Explain a situation where it would be appropriate to use the ban command:

I would use the ban hammer on users that have about 7 recent punishments. The duration of the ban depends if the user has been banned before.

Another situation would be when a user mass RDM's and leaves to avoid the punishment.

Explain how you would handle the following situation:

I would discuss what exactly happened with this staff member and then decide.
My respond would be this then:
'I am happy to see that you are appealing. I've spoken with the staff member in question. After receiving information about what happened, I understood the situation.
I am accepting your appeal because of these reasons:
1. Your effort in this appeal is outstanding, so you really seem sorry about what happened.
2. This is your first ban on the server.
These reasons made me decide to reduce your ban to two weeks!

Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 100 words):

To start this with.
I've been Moderator for 3 weeks at sunday and I got to say.
My first reason to accept me is that I am ready for Admin.
I've struggled the first 3 days as Mod, but since then it almost went flawless. I think I did a great job and I hope other people think this too. I act as what I feel is right and have to know everything before making a decision in a report.

The second reason is my activity
I've been consistently active since I got Mod, now when the holiday is over I will be busy. I got to be honest in that, but I will try to come online every day to help the server out. I also like to help people with applying or look for players who will fit in the staff team and suggest these to apply. As an active player, you start to know a lot of people.

Lastly, my interaction and place in the community.
I got the feeling the community appreciates me and I appreciate them back. I think I am a very known name on the server. Moreover, I am also trying to make the server more fun for everyone, like I did with starting 'The Burger Gang'. Everyone can join this and we even have a serious discordserver now with over 20 people. We have something in mind to do this week, giving you guys a heads-up.
And if u think this is also advertizing to join the burger gang, yes it totally is. (Join the burger gang, slide in my DMs)
I think making the server more fun for everyone, attracts more people to stay on the server and come back. This is exactly what I want.
