Well most people know me as Jack Bushross on SSRP or Jamie.
Throughout my application, I will list out my activity across the servers that I am active on, my personal experiences and beliefs and my future plans for SSRP as well as my involvement in the community in general.
Firstly, experiences.
I have been SSRP superadmin for around 9 months and this has allowed me to experience so great and not so great things within the community.
Now with the experience that I've gained over these passing months, I have been able to handle things such as appeals, punishment requests and report abuses with ease and with a accurate and fair verdict and ensure that I follow the policy carefully. I feel that with this kind of experience I'd be ready for a more challenging role such as headadmin. Also, staff members who're either above, same rank as me or lowered ranked staff members can rely on me if they need any help when it comes to handling appeals, punishment requests or report abuses. On top of this, I have extensive knowledge on how situations should be handle in game through the F1 system, so if any staff members need help with any issues regarding in game reports, I would be able to instruct and monitor the staff member well. I feel that this makes me a fairly approachable lead team member and this kind of trait is perfect for any lead team member to show.
Another positive that I've had is that my communication has increased massively, whether it is to do with in-game chat, chatting on teamspeak or the forums. I have a lot more confidence within the community which allows me to speak freely with people within the community whether I have a bad or good relationship with said player. Being able to put my personal feelings aside for the sake of the server would be a huge benefit in my opinion.
Although I am only the rank of superadmin, that does not stop me from helping perform the roles that would be entrusted to staff members of higher ranks. For example, when it comes to the updates I would come to find myself helping out or volunteering to help with the testing for bugs and exploits. I feel that in terms of my current role as a superadmin, I am doing a lot of hard work that I feel should be noticed by others, and a way of showing my hard work is for me to work my way up to headadmin, which I feel I've done.
Some players may feel some sort of intimidation when talking to a high ranking staff member, but I feel that there is a lot of transparency when it comes to myself, lower ranking staff members and users, which allows me as well as them to communicate with little to no issues.
Linking into the point that I mention a few sentences ago, I have been helping in terms of updates. This experience has allowed me to see how things are done behind the scene (to a certain extent) of course, and since I've taken part in testing of updates etc. I believe that this experience has prepared for doing these sorts of testing on a regular basis or whenever I am needed for this task.
Secondly, my presence throughout the community.
The work that I put in is not limited to SSRP alone mainly due to the fact that I am apart of the current community council. The role that I find myself doing within the community council meetings is mainly taking control of discussions whether it is SSRP related or not.
I believe that having a good relationship between staff members on other servers is a huge plus, especially when you're helping to bring ideas for updates to the servers. I've also been communicating with players and staff members who mainly play on pointshop servers, and there are instances where the player/staff member would come to me about a complaint or a suggestion regarding the pointshop server the play on or a staff member on the server. This shows that players/staff trust me with their ideas and having trust throughout the community is a massive plus towards being a respective headadmin, and I feel that I've gained that trust from not only players from SSRP, but players from other pointshop servers.
Having this kind of relationship with players from other servers would allow me to be influenced by some of the update ideas that they have that can be implemented into SSRP, and of course, I would be willing to thoroughly test these ideas. In addition to being influenced by the ideas from other servers, the ideas brought forward would be quite different to what the normal SSRP user is used to, which would give the server a fresh and more unique look compared to the other DarkRP servers.
Overall, I believe that the fact that I have a strong presence within the community, and this can lead to many great things that range from the SSRP servers, to the pointshop.
Thirdly, activity.
I am going to start of by addressing my absence in meetings. This is in fact due to current real life issues such as work which I believe should take priority over going to a meeting, but if I am at all able to join the meetings whenever I am off work, I would. With this said, my activity on teamspeak is fairly decent and this includes interaction with users who use the teamspeak, but most of the time I usually tend to be on my own teamspeak with friends, but that does not stop me from helping people out who require the need for it. A simple poke or a text chat message to me would allow me to easily handle teamspeak related issues without hassle, linking into this is the fact that I am a staff member on the SSRP servers, what this means is that I've handled harder situations that what comes about on teamspeak which proves that I have no issue handling players.
When it comes to my activity on SSRP, I am pretty much on everyday as well as actively playing. This links back to one of my previous points. The fact that I am actively playing means that if a staff member or users messages me for any sort of help, I'd be able to give it (Within reason), and this also links back to another point where I said that there is quite a bit of transparency between me and lower ranking staff members and users making me easily approachable for questions or some sort of request.
Below this sentence you can view my current activity over the current month, and it may be tricky to see, but I've played all but one day out of thirty:
This screenshot alone shows that I can be consistently active, which will be helpful in case of a scenario where there is a issue regarding a staff member who for example, began randomly abusing users. Me being a active headadmin would allow me to easily and quickly counter the issue without there being much trouble caused towards others.
Fourthly, my aims as a headadmin.
I've stated a few things before regarding my role within the community council, but if I become headadmin, I would use the knowledge that I acquire from within the council meetings and apply it to SSRP. This means that as well as helping to add SSRP updates to the server and debating suggestions with others on the council, I would also try to adapt some pointshop related updates to SSRP to create a more unique DarkRP server as stated before.
My next aim would be to manage the staff team more closely. This means that I'll be aiming to make sure that the staff team show fair judgement in punishment related situations, a friendly and approachable attitude towards other staff members as well as users, and finally, making sure that staff members who break rules themselves or shows irresponsible actions towards the users, staff or the server get reprimanded appropriately because from what I know, staff members do show a bias attitude towards friends or gang members, and I aim to put a stop to this to avoid false punishments given and too lenient of a punishment being given.
I am open to any constructive criticisms that you may have towards me and I urge that you do not hesitate to post them, but I ask that you refrain from starting any arguments or drama on this application.
