How would you handle a TS3/Discord appeal?:
Much like an appeal for SSRP or TTT. I would first review the appeal and try to understand the story from the appealing party's side: what has the user done to warrant a ban? is the ban duration fair with respect to the supplied reason? has the user submitted any evidence to assist their appeal?
Once I have familiarised myself with the situation, I would consult the ban list in teamspeak to identify the responsible staff member. After finding out who was responsible, I would attempt to contact them (preferably) via teamspeak, discord or even steam to get their side of the story and why they thought a ban was appropriate.
Depending on their response and the given ban duration, I may or may not feel that the ban (duration) was justified. An adjustment may have to be made.
Should the ban have to be adjusted, I would express my opinion with the responsible staff member and attempt to portray why the ban should be adjusted alongside how to handle a similar scenario with better precision in the future.
Eitherway, once an outcome is reached, I would post a response to the appeal explaining in detail why the particular outcome was reached and, if applicable, what the user can do to improve their behaviour.
Explain some of the administrative features of TS3/Discord and when they're used
appropriately:
Kick (from channel)
The kick from channel command ejects the targeted user from the channel they are currently in and returns them to the default channel; which happens to be the AFK lobby. The kick from channel command would be appropriate to use in minor instances of misconduct, i.e. someone is micspamming despite being told to stop
Kick (from server)
The kick from server command ejects the targeted user from the server; they must re-connect afterwards. The kick from server command would be appropriate to use in instances of misconduct where a ban is not required but kick from channel has not resolved the issue.
Ban
The ban feature will ban a user from the server. As like any ban command across the ZARP game servers, the ban command in teamspeak should only be used as a last resort or in extreme cases of misbehaviour. A reasonable ban duration and reason should
always be supplied when banning a user.
Remove user avatar
The remove user avatar feature deletes the targeted user's avatar from their profile. This should only be used when a user's teamspeak avatar is discriminatory, vulgar, obscene or breaks the ToU through other means.
Set server group/revoke server group
The set server group command will add a user to a selected server group. Typically, these groups denote the user's membership of certain staff teams. For example, I belong to the Forum Staff, Teamspeak Staff, TTT Admin and SSRP Super Admin server groups. When a user is added to a certain staff team, you would use this feature to assign the appropriate group.
Conversely, the revoke server group feature removes a user from a specified server group. This command should only be used if the targeted user has been demoted/resigned from the team.
What would I do different with my new powers? (we recommend around 50 words):
As we all know, the TS3 Head Admin rank is a prestigious rank that cannot be regularly obtained (TS3 Admin can simply be acquired by being promoted to Super Admin on any game server). I hope to become a strong voice within the teamspeak staff team that would be used to voice concerns/suggestions/queries within the team.
I hope to be a focal point within the community one day and I feel that applying for head admin is the right way to go. I have previously been contacted in teamspeak in the past to help users who are being harrassed or otherwise are breaking rules and I have assisted where possible. Becoming a head admin would allow me to train other users who join the staff team but also take on further responsibilities.
