Languages I speak: English. Explain how you feel that your time as a moderator will contribute to you becoming an admin: SSRP has been a new experience to me this year - I only started playing the gamemode regularly a few months ago. That being said, being staff on SSRP is an even newer experience for me. My timer as a moderator has not only given me an opportunity to familiarise myself with the arsenal of commands available to moderators but also how and when to use them. Over the past week (17/11/2018 - 24/11/2018), I spent very little time in RP and focused on getting experience as staff by handling F1s and ensuring I was delivering acceptable verdicts/outcomes for each one. To elaborate, sometimes I would view a situation and often have a 'black or white' opinion on it which can fit well most of the time for rules on pointshop servers, however DarkRP is not as simple; there can be a lot of angles to any particular incident. In times where I'm not sure of what to do, or what the best approach would be, I always drop a question in admin chat to get someone else's opinion on the matter. Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG: defiant user): Due to the limited available commands at a moderator's disposal, I often encountered situations that required me to ask for assistance by an admin+ to resolve. Some examples I can recall are:
If you had to write a facebook post to train a moderator in between 200-300 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?: Hello [name], congratulations on receiving the rank of SSRP Moderator. Please find some basic information below to help you get started: ZARP Staff Ethos: zarpgaming.com/index.php/forum/general-d...335-zarp-staff-ethos ZARP Staff Rights and Powers: zarpgaming.com/index.php/forum/staff-dis...ff-rights-and-powers SSRP Staff List: zarpgaming.com/index.php/forum/darkrp/38704-ssrp-staff-list SSRP Server Rules: zarpgaming.com/index.php/forum/darkrp/36...s-updated-08-09-2018 Commands: - Freeze (/freeze <Steam ID>): freezes the player indefinitely. - Unfreeze (/unfreeze <Steam ID>): un-freezes the player. - Slay (/slay <Steam ID>): kills the player - this is not used that often. - Kick (/kick <Steam ID>): kicks the player from the server - only to be used in extreme cases of bad behaviour, i.e. prop spam and no admin is available to ban the player. - Warn (/warn <Steam ID> <Reason>): adds a warning to the player's rapsheet - always add a reason or else the warning is considered invalid - Unwarn (/unwarn <Steam ID> <Reason>): removes a warning from the player's rapsheet - only works for active warnings (highlighted in red in the F6 menu), older warnings can only be removed by a Head Admin+ - Teleport (/tp <Steam ID> OR /teleport <Steam ID>): teleports the player to where you are looking. - Goto (/goto <Steam ID>): sends you to the player. - Bring (/bring <Steam ID>): brings the player to you. - Back (/back <Steam ID> also /backspawn <Steam ID>): sends the player back to their previous location prior to being teleported (if /backspawn, it will send them to spawn). Reports, recent warnings, logs and active NLR timers can be found in the menu accessed via F1. The rapsheet menu can be access by pressing F6. Explain how you would handle the following situation: Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that another admin banned them permanently for prop-spam, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be? Hi <name>, After discussing your appeal with <staff member's name>, we have agreed that your appeal should be accepted for the following reason(s):
Please ensure to re-read the Server Rules before logging back onto SSRP. If you have any issues logging back on, feel free to contact me via Steam Why I should be promoted(we recommend around 150 words): Over my first week of becoming a moderator, I was able to complete approximately 100 reports with a variety of reasons ranging from a simple question about a feature, to full on mass RDM. During this time, I have not only strengthened my understanding of SSRP as a gamemode as a whole but also how to moderate it in a firm, yet fair way. I did consider applying last week but I was unable to attend the meeting and I felt I should wait another week in order to gain a bit more experience in the role. With the experience I've gained thus far, I'm keen to progress into the role of admin, where I will be able to learn about new tools and commands and how to handle slightly more complex situations. I aim to attend this week's meeting that would satisfy the meeting attendance requirement (unfortunately Saturdays aren't always the easiest for me to attend due to work). |

Thanks for applying for staff at ZARP DarkRP! During our weekly staff meeting your application, question answers, game trackers and in-game warnings are checked and then the staff team votes on your application. We just wanted to say Congratulations! The staff team has voted to accept your application, which means you’re now a part of the ZARP staff. Before you get started, another admin will help train you on the server and get you setup with your new rank. There’s also a handy guide created by the community which should help you get up to speed with your new menus & commands. And don’t forget you can always ask another staff member if you’re not sure about something. ZARP DarkRP Staff Meeting – Every Saturday 7PM UTC There’s a weekly staff meeting for the server at the above time, which is held on the ZARP Teamspeak server (IP: ts.zarpgaming.com). You now get a vote on the new staff members and we’ll keep you up to date with new events and server updates at the meeting. Congratulations and thanks for supporting ZARP. |
