Server 1:
www.gametracker.com/player/TheXnator/play.zarpgaming.com:27017/
Estimated Server Time:
Approximately 25,848 minutes
Languages I speak:
English, some French and Spanish and a little bit of Irish Gaelic and Japanese.
Explain a situation where it would be appropriate to use the ban command.
A situation in which it would be appropritate to use the ban command would be, for example, a player has been continuously causing serious problems for the server. (Continuous LTAP, exploiting, 8 - 10 recent punishments etc.). If a situation arose where someone was causing continuous problems, I would first give them a warning to let them know that they will be banned should they continue. If such behaviour then persisted, it would be appropriate to utilise the ban command upon the user, with the timeframe for the ban dependant upon the actions committed.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for Cheating, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?
Of course we are going to assume that, hypothetically, the policies don't prevent this situation from actually happening
I would first of all check the amount of time that player x had been banned for. If player x had been banned for at least a month, and had not had any previous issues on the server, then I would unban them but make sure to keep an eye on them in-game to make sure that they are following the rules properly, letting them know that further punishment could ensue if they did continue to cause problems. If player x had not been banned for very long, then I would check any punishments before they were banned and ask a few players/staff members if they had experienced any problems with player x. If player x had been perfectly fine except for the occasion which led to the ban, then I would lower the user's ban time to approximately 2 weeks from the time of the appeal, or deny the appeal should they not meet the criteria.
Why I should be promoted?
I feel that I should be accepted for the rank of Administrator on the TTT server because, now that I am able to put a lot more time into TTT than I was able to even before when I was a Head Administrator, having not so many ranks as previously, and the fact that I greatly enjoyed being staff from Moderator all the way through to Head Administrator the last time, I am now able to focus on TTT a lot more than I was able to before. In the time that I have been back playing, I have noticed that there is a still of course a lot of rulebreak, as expected of any server, especially one such as TTT, and there are often no staff on to deal with these problems, or not enough staff to properly handle every user and every count of rulebreak as it happens. I want to be able to come back to the server and give something back, to help out and make an impact into stopping the users who come onto the server and break rules. I am very trusted within the community, given my ranks as Prophunt Server Owner, Teamspeak Head Admin and Forum Global Moderator, as well as my previous ranks as Deathrun Server Owner, Surf Server Developer, SSRP Head Administrator, TTT Head Administrator, Bhop Administrator and Jailbreak Moderator. I believe that this trust, and the experience that comes alongside it (and obviously the past experience of being TTT Moderator through to Head Administrator already, maintaining my ranks on the server for over 18 months) will allow me to do a lot more for the server, and to help out with little or no issues arising based on any lack of trust, knowledge or experience. As a user, I always make an report / recording in-game when I witness a rulebreak in order to alert staff of what is happening, and I always try to be as helpful as possible when it comes to providing all of the required information relative to the situation. As a staff member in the past, and currently on other servers, I have always tried to be as fair, kind and helpful as I can, always following the ethos and taking other recent punishments into account, and trying to give the best suitable punishments for the situation in order to ensure that the user is not being treated to harshly, but also so that they are not treated so leniently that they get away with constant rulebreaking.
