Explain a situation where it would be appropriate to use the ban command:
There are multiple situations where using the ban command is appropriate, however I will only name a few. If someone gets on the mic and makes racist remarks, I can ban them based off of my discretion, as we have a zero tolerance policy towards racism. Another situation where using the ban command would be appropriate would be if someone were to mass rdm, and then leave to avoid punishment. Another situation would be if someone were to have a certain amount of recent punishments, and they were already told that another warn will result in their banishment from the server.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for Cheating, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?
I would really consider if this individual is truly apologetic for his actions. If I determine that he is truly regretful of his behaviour, and since it is there first ban, I would decide to unban him and give him another chance. However, I would let him know that if he dare participate in such reckless behaviour again, he will get banned and most likely remained banned as he shows no true remorse for his actions. I would watch him like a hawk in game in order to see if he is abiding to the rules and truly making an effort to change his ways. This will allow me to determine if he truly is ready to reconcile with the server and engage properly with the servers staff, players, and rules.
Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 100 words):.
I feel as though I have spent a lot of time on this server (340 hours) and that I have been doing quite a good job as moderator. I have not received any complaints as of yet, no forum posts, and it seems that the community generally likes my presence on the server. I am quite active, and didn't miss a single day last week despite having a final exam. That only shows my dedication to the server and Zarpgaming. Although I can joke around at times and be fun, I can be quite mature and stern when necessary in order to fulfill my obligation of being a staff member.
Extra Information: (Not Required)
I have already attended a staff meeting. I understand the hesitation that will be felt due to the fact that I have only been moderator for a short amount of time, however I feel as though in this time I learned a lot about staffing and am ready to take my talents to the next level. I also am one of the rare North American staff, so this would allow me to have more power and control over a server during late times when I am the only staff member available. Thanks for reading!
