DEATHRUN RELATED:
What is Ghosting? Give an example: Ghosting is a form of immoral "cheating" or bad etiquette in Deathrun whereby a player (who is usually dead), will communicate with a player that is alive and give them information that wouldn't otherwise be obtainable to the alive player. This information can be things such as which traps have been activated, or the location of other Deaths and Runners on the map. This gives them an unfair advantage, and, therefore, tarnishes the impartiality of the gameplay. It has been a problem in Deathrun pretty much since its inception, and due to third party communication applications, it can be hard to prevent, so the main thing that admins can do is to try and cull it at the first sign if it appearing, through whatever means necessary.
How would you deal with a disrespectful player?: I would firstly give them a verbal warning, ensuring that they understand that what they are doing is wrong, and that they know that they have been warned. Should the problem persist, then I will (powers permitting) mute them for an allotted amount of time (usually 5 minutes per say), muting them for 10, and then 15 if they continue to be disrespectful. However, if they are still disrespectful after the three mutes, then I would confer with other admins if they are available, and issue a temporary ban from the server (perhaps for 3 hours) and inform other admins. It is very important to nip disrespectful players in the bud as early as possible when it comes to Deathrun, as their toxic behaviour is able to be repeated on a round by round basis, and it is often very toxic, so ensuring other players don't follow suit should be a top priority.
Why should I be chosen for the role: I believe that my maturity, experience, and skillset place me above the other great applicants for this role. I have been playing on several Deathrun servers over the past few years, and even used to own one myself. I have been staff on multiple servers, and Zarp Gaming seems to be the best one yet. I really feel as though I could benefit from working with some of the amazing staff members (that I have been introduced to already), as well as bringing things that I have learnt from my several hundred hours on Deathrun, and make Zarp Gaming even better! I have loads of free time since I have finished college, and I would like to think that I will be able to join the servers at times where other admins may not be able to due to commitments. I also feel that since I have joined ZarpGaming, I have been able to integrate myself into the community rather well, and I hope to continue doing this for many weeks, months, and years to come!
Just to finish my application, I know that a 10 minute incident occurred last week which seemingly tarnished my entire Moderator application. I hope that reapplyIng this week not only shows my commitment to ZarpGaming, but it also shows that I (and other players) have forgiven and forgotten what happened and, like me, are looking forward to making ZarpGaming a better place. I am genuinely remorseful for my actions during that time and I hope that my further actions in game reflect that, and if not, it is my upmost priority to convince everyone involved that this is the case.
Furthermore, I have left this application as it was due to nobody expressing any concerns with its content. As this is my third submission, I'd just like to address the reasons for rejection in chronological order. Firstly, recents. To my knowledge, I didn't have any recents last week. In fact, the only recents I have ever had have been inside a 10 minute period, and have been dealt with and understood by the admin team. Secondly and finally, timefarming. I can categorically confirm that I never have, do, or will, timefarm. In fact, I wasn't even aware that it was an offence. I sometimes do join the server when there is nobody on (mostly due to me being a very flexible player) and afk, hoping to see someone else on when I come back. Me being on the server not only entices growth, because people are more likely to come on if they see somebody already on the server. I then often tab out due to the lack of people on, and when I tab back in, there are a few people on. Now that I know this causes a problem (even when I was in spectator mode), I shan't do this anymore. However, for the record, at least 95% of my hours are legit, and this means that if I was "timefarming" then I have no doubt my hours will remain as high as they currently are. I hope you understand this, and do let me know if you have any questions regarding this, or any aspect of my time on ZarpGaming, and I'll be happy to answer any concerns you may have!
Thank you for reading my application, I hope that you take it into consideration, and I'll see you in game!
All the best,
SwimminSteve
