How do you feel that your time as an administrator has contributed to becoming a super administrator:
I have been admin for 3 weeks now and I have been mod for 2. During this period, I have had the chance to deal with many different type of rule breaks. I happened to be on the server when 34 players were online, some of which who were being racist and rule breaking. I proved to myself that I was able to remain calm and, working along with the staff team, deal with them so that sighed server kept working fine and new users had a friendly experience.
Other than only handling rule breakers, I have also been able to talk quite often to the staff team. This made me realise that the DR staff team is great and works together very well. Due to this, I would like to be Super Admin and improve the good work even more.
What makes you a good candidate for the super administrator team? ( in this part you can go as detailed as you want):
Ranks, activity and experience: I have been on zarp for 9 months and have been staff for 8 of those. In this time, I have continued to develop my leadership and skills. Thanks to all this time, I have experience on staffing for three different servers. I am really active on forums, as I normally post on applications giving feedback. Other than that, I also spend many time on teamspeak.
All of these are proved as I am currently holding a Lead a team position.
Leadership and reliability: I have showed myself to be a person in who to trust and someone who is helpful. This leadership is also showed as I am a lead team member on murder. I am always willing to help both users and staff members with whatever I can
Friendly and helpful: I am really friendly towards everyone. I try to help users as much as I can so that they enjoy they’re stay on the server as much as possible. Having worked with two other staff teams, I have experience with helping others
Explain a situation as an administrator you encountered that was an obstacle that required the help of a lead team member but you had to work around it when no lead team member was available:
As for now, I have been able to handle every case I have encountered due to no hackers having entered the server while I have been on. Despite the fact of never having encountered these obstacle, I have handled some of them on murder as a super admin. Up to now, I have dealt with hackers on three different occasions, reaching a beneficial conclusion in all of them.
Explain how you would review and handle an abuse report against another staff member:
I would start by personally talking to the staff member, if possible, on teamspeak. To begin with, I’d personally ask him about the report, wether or not it’s true. If the staff member admits to it, I would proceed by asking him the reason why he did that. If I find out something happened to him and he was angry, sad or something like that, I would ask him to apologise to everyone who he harmed.
If he tries to lie about it or he doesn’t care, and assuming I have evidence of their abuse, I would explain to him that this kind of behaviour in unacceptable and that I would be bringing him up in the next meeting for a possible demotion, depending on the level of abuse.
If however, I don’t have evidence, I would tell the user that I can’t punish with evidence but that I would keep an eye in him, using the !undercover command. Before closing the report, I would take my time to explain the user how to gather evidence and what he can do to film the abuse next time, if it happens.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member bans a user for an excessive amount of time, how do you approach the staff member to ensure that everyone is treated fairly?
I would begin with talking to the staff member and explaining him how the ban system works. Once he fully understands how this works, I would then lower the ban to the correct amount of time. Lastly I would approach the user and notify him that his ban has been updated. If it was too harsh, I would ask the staff member to apologise for his mistake
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member is dealing with a user but is struggling to do so in an appropriate manner. How would you resolve the situation?
I would intervene as fast as possible to avoid any kind of conflict. After having stopped it, I would finish handling the problem myself thus ensuring it’s done correctly. One over, I would then talk privately to the staff user to know if anything is happening. I would try my best to help him, if possible, to a personal level.
If nothing is happening and he was just rude, I would tell him that if he keeps up his bad attitude I would bring him up myself in the next meeting for an official warning. I’d also tell him to apologise to the user as he might have caused harm
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member accuses another staff member of breaking rules, how would you help resolve the situation?
To start off, I would talk to the staff member who accuses his colleague. After having heard the full story, I’d ask him for evidence, if he has.
If evidence is acquired and I indeed see that he broke rules I would talk to him to try to get a confession. If he admits to it and seems sorry, I would either bring him up for an official or verbally warm him and tell him to never do it again or ask him to apologise on the forums.
If he tries to lie or doesn’t care but I have evidence showing he did, I would tell him that lying isn’t going to get him anywhere. If he keeps up his lie, I would show him the evidence and tell him that he will be brought up next meeting for an official or, depending on the offence, a demotion.
If, however, he then regrets lying, before I show him the evidence, I would then thank him and if he looks sorry, I would consider keeping it in only an official
In the case of no evidence being provided, I’d then tell the accusing staff member that I cannot punish him unless he admits to it but that I would keep an eye on him and try to catch him in !undercover. I would then explain him how to gather evidence, if he breaks rules, again
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member acts in a disrespectful manner towards another staff member and or sparks an argument within the staff team. How do you resolve the situation?
This situation has to be handled with care, as staff relationships are crucial for the server to work. I would start by talking separately to both members of the staff. Having heard what they both have to say, I would get them into a spacer and try to talk things down. I would do my best to put an end to the argument. If I succeed, I would let things continue as normal. If I don’t, I would tell both members of the team to give some time to each other and stay away for a day or so.
However, if one of the staff members is too disrespectful or in the wrong, I would tell him to stop as he might be getting brought up keeps up the bad attitude
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
You spot a staff member breaking rules to the point of harming other users, how do you approach the staff member?
I would, first of all, move him into spectator to avoid him breaking more rules. Then I would ask him to come on teamspeak and would move him to a spacer. I would try to talk to him first. After asking him why he did that, I would handle the case differently depending on the answer.
If he is having some sort of real life problem, I would tell him to take the day off and later on apologise to the user.
If he doesn’t care though, I would tell him to stop as he will be brought up for a demotion.
However, if he keeps breaking rules, I would talk to the staff team at the same moment and consider an emergency demotion.
