I have learned that being approachable and friendly makes players more respectful towards you and others and contributes to an overall more healthy and pleasant server. Finally, I have learned that some players don’t always need to be punished, just taught a better understanding of the rules or situation in question. I think this knowledge will be a great asset as an admin. Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG: defiant user): As a moderator, I have faced quite a few obstacles in helping people. One such obstacle that I had to overcome a number of times was people who didn’t speak english or pretended not to speak english. It becomes much more difficult to interact with and either help or punish a user if they cannot understand you, and if they cannot understand the rules it falls to staff to explain them. I overcame this issue whenever I encountered it by either getting another staff member to translate for me, or making use of google translate to roughly communicate with the player in question. If you had to write a facebook post to train a moderator in between 200-300 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?: The F1 Menu: This menu is used to handle admin requests and check logs, it has search functionality and will help with the bulk of your job as moderator. The F6 Menu: This menu is used to check the “rap sheet” of a player, in order to view their past punishments. This will help you take into account how to punish users. /tp: This will teleport you to the crosshair location, if a steamid or name is entered it will teleport them to the crosshair instead. /back and /backspawn: This will send you to where you were before or spawn, if a if a steamid or name is entered it will teleport them instead. /freeze and /unfreeze: Can be used to /freeze and /unfreeze players by steamid or name. /slay: Can be used to kill a player, use sparingly; for example if a mutant has a PSG, one can enter /slay [steamid] to kill them. /warn: Used to punish players by entering /warn followed by their steamid followed by a reason, be sure to state why you are warning them. /warn [steamid] [reason] /unwarn: Used to remove a warning, this can only be used soon after warning, otherwise a higher staff must remove the warn. /unwarn [steamid] /kick: If a player is prop blocking, prop spamming, mass rdming or doing similar actions with no higher staff on,you can kick them by entering /kick followed by their steamid. /kick [steamid] Unban From Job: Can be accessed through the tab menu and can be used if someone is demoted from a job wrongly. Explain how you would handle the following situation: Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that another admin banned them permanently for prop-spam, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be? I would speak to the banning staff member and then reply with the following: Greetings User, thank you for taking the time to make this unban request. I have spoken with the admin responsible for your ban and have decided to accept this appeal, as such your ban will be reduced to X (remaining ban length in weeks, days, etc.) Please do your absolute best to develop a better understanding of the rules before playing again. I look forward to seeing you on the server. Lock Please Why I should be promoted(we recommend around 150 words): I believe I deserve a promotion for a number of reasons. The foremost of which is that I believe I have demonstrated an impeccable attitude in my moderation. I always do my best to be not only fair and unbiased towards users, but also friendly and kind. I make it clear to users that I am here to help, and that they should feel that their problems will be handled swiftly and fairly. I have done my best to help users whenever they need it, and have made dealing with their issues a priority. I also believe that with additional administrative powers I will be able to help make the player experience on the server a more enjoyable one. I will be more free to independently deal with situations that currently require me to contact other staff members, and deal with issues when there are no other staff members on or available. |

Thanks for applying for staff at ZARP DarkRP! During our weekly staff meeting your application, question answers, game trackers and in-game warnings are checked and then the staff team votes on your application. We just wanted to say Congratulations! The staff team has voted to accept your application, which means you’re now a part of the ZARP staff. Before you get started, another admin will help train you on the server and get you setup with your new rank. There’s also a handy guide created by the community which should help you get up to speed with your new menus & commands. And don’t forget you can always ask another staff member if you’re not sure about something. ZARP DarkRP Staff Meeting – Every Saturday 7PM UTC There’s a weekly staff meeting for the server at the above time, which is held on the ZARP Teamspeak server (IP: ts.zarpgaming.com). You now get a vote on the new staff members and we’ll keep you up to date with new events and server updates at the meeting. Congratulations and thanks for supporting ZARP! |
