Explain a situation where it would be appropriate to use the ban command:
The ban command can only be used in specific situations, such as the ones that I will mention.
- Racism - Mainly happens when a player is either being racist, with the use of his microphone, or even through chat. Also depends how it was used and who you used it. This is because a new player might be new to the server, therefore a verbal warning would take place before the actual ban. It's a very controversial topic which, I would go on and on about, but when it's clear racism, a ban will be issued.
- MASS RDM + LTAP - Basically when a Player joins the server and RDM'S, and then immediately leaves. A ban should be issued in this situation as well.
These situations mentioned, are what I mostly see on the server. I've encountered both of these situations happen on the server when no Admin or a higher up was online. Having the Ban Command can obviously help me much more when encountering these types of people on the server, as I wouldn't need to contact higher ups about it, since I know how to handle these type of people.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for Cheating, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be?
Cheating isn't something that any player should do. If I ever encountered this situation on the server and I was the one that banned him, I'd have to ask player x a few questions. The questions that I'd ask are these:
- Why did you cheat?
- Do you plan to improve your behaviour? If so, how?
After the player, responds to these questions, I'll contact him via steam so as to gain further insight. In these type of situations, it mainly depends who was cheating and how he/she responds.
After reviewing your appeal, and having talked to you via chat, you seem to be truly apologetic, about the situation at hand. I've decided to shorten your length ban to 4 days, as I would still like you to get punished for what you have done. Nonetheless, I hope that after you return to the server, you'll have changed for the better. See you in 4 days!
OR
Your ban will not be removed. This is because after talking to you more, I don't think you're really sorry about what you truly did. Cheating is a severe offence and shouldn't be taken lightly.
N.B : This all depends on the situation and how the player in question responded through the forums or steam chat.
Why I should be promoted:
Although I've had some kind of trouble this week, I still managed to pull through and keep an open mind about the situation. I am truly sorry for what happened, but now's not the time for apologies. Here's a few key points about me that everyone should know about me.
Active
I'm a very active staff member, that's what I like to think anyway. Most of the time, I'm online in the morning, therefore not a lot of staff members are online.
Friendly
I've been trying to communicate with everyone, mostly staff members, as I'm trying to build some kind of connection with them. Regards users, I've been friendly with most of them. I always try to have a laugh with them, and at the same time help them understand the rules.
Dedicated.
I've been trying to dedicate most of my time to the server. I'm a goal oriented person, and I've set myself some goals, that I will not back out from.
Pretty straightforward. Nonetheless I'm hoping that what happened this week, will stay in the past as I'm a very friendly guy.
Extra Information:
Unfortunately, this week I have exams coming up. I'll try to come on the server as much as I can, hope that it won't be an issue. Other than that, I hope you leave constructive feedback, in which I can actually improve on. Thanks for reading, and have a good week!
