Explain "Random Death Match" and give an example scenario:
Random Death Match (RDM) is the act of killing another player without valid justification or reasoning. This can take many forms, from accidentally killing someone in the crossfire of a raid, to the intentional mass killing of other players without regards for rules. In all forms RDM is against the rules, however one should not attempt to kill an RDMer for revenge as this also constitutes RDM. Instead, players should contact a staff member through the f1 menu and make a report.
Example Scenario: A player joins the server and immediately runs for police officer, once voted in, said player begins killing anyone they see near the bank.
Explain "New Life Rule" and give an example scenario:
New Life Rule (NLR) is the concept that once a player’s character either dies or switches jobs, which results in the player effectively having a new character. This character cannot within the realm of RP remember things that have occurred to the player’s previous character, and as such RP interactions cannot be influenced by said events. NLR also prohibits players from returning to areas where they have been killed for a set amount of time, with a few exceptions such as police raiding nuke or a player being defibrillated. NLR time can be clearly seen in the top of the players screen following a death.
Example Scenario: A player whose base is being raided is killed, he then returns as quickly as he can to save his printers. Upon returning shortly after respawning, he kills the raiders.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for RDMing him, the console log shows that player y killed player x.
I would first make sure player x was not involved in RP, and then I would bring them to a sit. I would then ask player x to calmly explain their side of the story, and ask them why they feel they were RDMed. After this, I would make sure player y was not involved in RP, and I would bring them to the sit as well. I would ask player y why they killed player x, and would respond accordingly. I would first see if the situation could be handled amicably without required action. If the player claimed they did not RDM player x, I would analyze the stories of each party and determine if it was indeed RDM. If it was indeed RDM, I would punish the player based on recent punishments. For a first offence with no recents, a verbal warning would be the most likely action. If player y gave no response, or admitted to RDMing player X, I would punish the player with a warning or escalate the issue to a higher staff member if need be.
Explain how you would handle the following situation:
Player x accuses player y for breaking NLR, the kills are pretty close together in console (a few lines apart) at a peak time.
As before I would make sure the players were not involved in RP, and then bring them to a sit, first the accuser, then the accused. After asking each player to explain their side of the story calmly, I would, after seeing the close together kills in logs, likely determine the player had broken NLR. If I find that the player had broken NLR, I would punish them like earlier, depending upon recent punishments. If the player in question had not been punished recently, I would likely verbally warn them. In the event they had recents to consider, I would do so and then likely punish them with a warning.
Why I should be chosen(we recommend around 150 words):
I have been a member of the combined FP/ZARP community for a VERY long time. I first joined the ZARP forums in 2014, and I joined FP long before that. Being a part of this community for so long gives me a perspective that allows me to see the changes I and the community have gone through side by side. I have grown significantly since I first joined, and have seen the community grow as well. I see a lot of postive changes that have taken place on the server, and it makes me want to be a part of it as it continues to grow and change. I see a lot of things on the server that I would like to have a hand in changing, and I would like to help the community as a whole improve. I believe I have what it takes to not only become an integral member of the staff team, but also to become a valuable agent of improvement and change within the community.
