How do you feel that your time as an administrator has contributed to becoming a super administrator:
After one month of continuous staff activity I am confident enough to say that I have the experience and the knowledge to take a step further. I have come across numerous diverse situations, in where I had to implement a flexible approach. That given, gives me the needed experience and knowledge necessary for the LT role.
It has been a while now since I joined the server for the first time, but even after all this time I still like to invest my time in playing on this server.
After I became staff of the TTT server, my commitment only increased. I have managed to establish a good communication line between me and a lot of colleague staff members. The interaction I make with other staff members does not only contain conversations with a light-hearted atmosphere. I also have more serious talks in where I always give my own opinion on a certain subject. Not only that, but I also try to help out (new) staff members when they struggle finding their own proper answers to a certain problem.
Based on the given information, I believe I am regarded as a reliable and trustful person, which is very important for the super admin role.
What makes you a good candidate for the super administrator team? ( in this part you can go as detailed as you want):
Reliability/behaviour
Currently, I am studying International Business Administration. Before that, I have done committees on school. Why am I sharing this with you? The experience I obtained by past and on-going events gives me the required discipline for the SA role. I know how to work with a clear and structured policy, which comes in handy for taking a leading role. As I have said before I like to chit chat with people, but I know how to handle professionally as well. People are always welcome to submit questions to me, and I always try to answer them the best I can.
Activity
I am usually active (daily basis) on the forums, TeamSpeak servers, and TTT server on a daily basis. In other words, I am normally relatively quickly available. I also know a relatively big part of the common average player base of the server, and I believe I have provided them with a fairly positive image of myself.
Explain a situation as an administrator you encountered that was an obstacle that required the help of a lead team member but you had to work around it when no lead team member was available:
To be honest, I have never dealt with such a situation directly on my own. I have however encountered a player, who we suspected for aimbotting, together with some other staff members. A colleague admin offered to record the gameplay of the player in question. We have tried to contact a LT member, after we suspected the person for aimbotting. The reason for doing so is that we don’t have the access to anti-cheat as an admin. Unfortunately no LT members were available, since we encountered the player in the late hours. What should be done afterwards is sending the recording to the LT members, who can handle the case and decide on the verdict for the suspected player.
Explain how you would review and handle an abuse report against another staff member:
I would start by looking over the information given in the abuse report. I would firstly check whether the report abuse contains potential evidence pieces. If not, I would ask the person to provide evidence and I would give the person 24 hours to do so. If he/she failed to do so, I would Deny the report for not providing any evidence.
If however evidence is included in the abuse report, I would make sure to carefully read myself into the report for abuse. After I have done sufficient research, I would try to contact (preferably TeamSpeak) both the player and the staff member involved in the abuse report. When doing so, I make sure to view both stories from an objective point of view.
If the evidence gathered suggest an accepted abuse report
Hello Player X, after looking into your report and the information included I have determined the evidence clearly supports the action of abuse. The staff member in question has been spoken to about is actions.
Regards,
If the evidence gathered suggest a denied abuse report:
Hello Player X, the evidence given in the report does not suggest any abusive action. No further action will be taken.
Regards,
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member bans a user for an excessive amount of time, how do you approach the staff member to ensure that everyone is treated fairly?
I would contact the staff member in question, preferably via Teamspeak. First, I would hear the staff member out on his reasoning behind the ban. After that I would tell the ,staff member in a clear way, why he banned the user for an excessive amount of time. I will make sure the staff member knows exactly what he did wrong, in order to prevent such an event from happening again. Lastly, I´d kindly ask him to read through the ban guide, and to lower the ban, of the user, to an appropriate amount.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member is dealing with a user but is struggling to do so in an appropriate manner. How would you resolve the situation?
If a staff member asks advise when he or she is struggling with a particular user. Depending on the situation I would give the staff member the kind of advice, the situation calls for. Expecting the staff member listens to my advice, I would monitor the situation. If it turns out the staff member still does not manage to deal with the user, I am going to step in myself. When I do that, I ask the staff member to watch how I would handle the whole situation. This will make sure the staff members actually learns from it. In this way, he knows how to handle with these situations him or herself in the future.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
In a situation like this I would contact both staff members privately (not altogether in a group, since both the staff members getting in an argument is inevitable), and hear out both of their sides of the story. Again, I am looking into the case with an objective point of view. After I have heard their stories I would ask both of them to provide any evidence, which helps me finding a proper conclusion. If both of the staff members fail to support their case with any evidence I would let the case go and do nothing, since the accused staff member is innocent until proven guilty. If however, the accuser manages to prove the accused staff member guilty, I would surely act upon that. I would then stress how problematic his or her acts are, and tell him or her such an event should not happen again. If it turns out the staff member has been breaking rules already in the past, I would tell the staff member he or she is walking on a very thin line right now.
A staff member acts in a disrespectful manner towards another staff member and or sparks an argument within the staff team. How do you resolve the situation?
If I notice one staff member has a disrespectful attitude towards one of his or her colleagues, I would bring both of them in to a spacer (if they’re not available at the same time, I would interview them in private). Depending on the situation, I would try to search for the outcome that suits both staff members the best. After I am done with speaking to both staff members I would remind them both on the importance of teamwork, stressing that they should attempt to work together in a respectful manner.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
You spot a staff member breaking rules to the point of harming other users, how do you approach the staff member?
If I see a staff member breaking rules that undermine the actual game experience of other users, I would speak to the staff member immediately. I would ask him, to quit his or her actions at once. Staff members know what rule breaking is and how it ruins other’s experience, hence I would gather evidence of the abuse, and bring it up in the Lead team meeting. If the staff members clearly decides to ignore my request, and continues to sabotage other’s gameplay I would not hesitate to demote him on the spot.
Extra:
Thank you for taking the time to review my application. I would kindly request for genuine and constructive feedback, for improvement purposes.
