Explain what you would do if someone was Text/Mic Spamming on the server:
If I were to encounter a player who was text or voice chat spamming on the server, I initially would warn them that what they are doing is against the rules. While most of time I am a massive dick(Won’t try to deny it), when it comes to being a staff member I am very level headed and don’t like to jump straight to punishments, so I would give the player 1-2 verbal warnings.
Following my warnings if the player continue to spam in either platform I would first issue a 1 minute mute, and if the player continues to spam after their mute is finished I would then mute them for 5 minutes, and if for some reason they haven't learned their lesson and continue after that I would then mute them for 10 minutes, and if for some UNGODLY reason they're so intent on spamming voice or text chat that they continue after that I would then mute them indefinitely so that for the rest of the session they don’t have the chance to ruin other players experience on the server.
Explain how you would deal with someone using an exploit on the server:
First I would tell the player that they are not allowed to exploit on zarp servers, and that they should stop immediately and if not, higher ranking staff may possibly have to get involved to punish them. If the player does not heed my warning and continues to use whatever exploit, I would ask a higher ranking staff member to issue a ban if they deem it necessary.
I would also encourage that the player maker a forum post to describe the exploit in thorough detail so that Xnator or EMP may be able to come up with a fix for whatever it is. Even if the player does not make this post, Xnator and EMP would have already received a report of the incident from myself so that they are aware of whatever it is the exploit is.
Explain the meaning of the term "ghosting" and give an example scenario:
Ghosting is the act of communicating in-game information such as where props are, outside of game chat in something steam chat or a voice chatting software such as teamspeak or discord, giving an unfair advantage to whoever is speaking.
Scenario:
Players X and Y are both good friends and are playing the server together, but they are both on different teams. Player X is on the Props team and Player Y is on the Hunters team, unfortunately Player X is found and killed by a hunter. After dying Player X begins to spectate players on his team and reveal their locations to Player Y in (steam chat, teamspeak, discord), giving Player Y an unfair advantage as he knows the locations of the other team and can easily kill them due to the information Player X has given him.
Why I should be chosen (we recommend around 75 words):
I think I would be a great candidate for the position of Moderator on the server because I truly enjoy playing and want everyone to have the best experience possible while on the server, and would like to be able to help ensure that by being able to keep those who want to ruin others experiences in check. Since I returned in August from my 5th Community Ban I feel I have done a lot to prove myself as a contributing member of this community, and I’ve come a LONGGGGGG way from where I was prior to that ban, to where I am now. I have showed both responsibility and dedication in regards to the staff positions I currently hold and hope to extend my ability to continue to be a contributing and helpful member of the community by helping moderate Prop Hunt.
