How do you feel that your time as an administrator has contributed to becoming a super administrator:
I have had many experiences as an administrator as i have been one for 2 months. For example, I have had many situations were I have been picked on personally and I was able to handle these situations calmly by ignoring them but still giving them verbal/actual warnings. I think this has contributed to me possibly becoming a super administrator is because it shows I can handle difficult situations when there is more than one person who is breaking rules or causing a problem.
What makes you a good candidate for the super administrator team? ( in this part you can go as detailed as you want):
Dedication and activity
I am very dedicated to this server as I am on almost every day unless something comes up that I can not help. Although at the moment when I am writing this my activity is not the best, I have just come back from a break. If you look at 30 days you can see that I am on for at least an hour every day. I go above and beyond with the activity achieving 5-7 hours a week, which is more than most admins.
Experience
I have had a lot of experience as staff. I have been administrator for 2 months and I believe moderator for 1. It may not seem like much as i have only been in the community for 5 months. Being administrator for such a long time means I have had experience with a lot of situations, Some I have not handled well but most i have handled well due to my experience of it happening again. There are very few times that I mess up when I do I accept it most of the time that it is my fault.
Understanding
I can understand when I do wrong and I can understand situations very well. This means if I need to handle something for example a warn appeal I would be able to do so calmly and not biased. I understand most point of views and I am very open minded most of the time. I can also accept why people may be mad at something I do or say or if I warn someone and they are annoyed i try not to get annoyed because I understand why.
Explain a situation as an administrator you encountered that was an obstacle that required the help of a lead team member but you had to work around it when no lead team member was available:
There was a time where there was about 5 people constantly rule breaking- mainly mic spam- I did ask a lead team member if they could come on to assist however they were busy so I knew I had to deal with it myself and another moderator ( who did not do anything even when I asked for assistance). What happened was one person would mic spam I would say if they did it again they would be warned and then somebody else did. I then said if anybody mic spammed they would be warned and gagged and stated this both in chat and voice chat. Somebody then did mic spam so I tgagged them for 5 minutes and warned them. He and his friends ( I did a friend check to see if the were a group) decided what I did was wrong. I stated it was correct and if someone else does it the same punishment. One of his friends did so and I did the exact same thing. This time people got the message and decided it was a good idea not to continue and therefore changed the subject. They both ,when they were ungagged, did not continue until they left.
Explain how you would review and handle an abuse report against another staff member:
If I had to handle an abuse report against another staff member I would firstly contact the person who had made the report and ask them what happened. I would write this down on the sticky note application on my laptop so I write down the important key events. I would then ask them specific questions and ask them to go into as much detail as possible. Next, I would contact the staff member and ask them to describe what happened. I would also write this down. After I got the details I would ask them questions that was related to what the other person who told me. Finally, once I had all my information I would make an unbiased opinion on what happened and if what the staff member had done was correct or not.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member bans a user for an excessive amount of time, how do you approach the staff member to ensure that everyone is treated fairly?
I would try and contact the staff member either over steam or teamspeak. I would let them know that they had banned the person for too long and explain how long you should ban someone based on the circumstance (i.e ban evading- Permanent). Depending on how extreme it was, I would unban the person and set the ban to the appropriate amount of time.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member is dealing with a user but is struggling to do so in an appropriate manner. How would you resolve the situation?
Unless it gets really difficult to handle, I would give them advice over admin chat on what to do under the circumstance. I dont think getting involved would necessarily teach them anything and I think the best type of teaching is first hand when you are dealing with it yourself. Like I said, if I gets extremely difficult I would step in and help/solve the situation.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member accuses another staff member of breaking rules, how would you help resolve the situation?
Like the abuse report, I would ask them both over private chat whether over steam or teamspeak. I would ask them both what they believe happened. After this, depending on if it was an extreme constant rule break, I would most likely let the lead team know so they may be able to demote the person who is rule breaking. However, if the staff member was not rule breaking then I would just tell the other that they didn't do anything wrong and just to not discuss it.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
A staff member acts in a disrespectful manner towards another staff member and or sparks an argument within the staff team. How do you resolve the situation?
I would try and resolve it by trying to figure out what happens so I can figure out a solution to the situation as there is nothing worse than two staff members arguing because we are a community and we are supposed to get along beside each other. If one staff member refuses to drop it I will tell them if they continue I might have to gag/mute you because they may be disrespecting or just causing a problem which is something we do not want. If they continued after being ungagged I would just gag/mute them again and say that they should probably leave to calm down and they can possibly discuss this at a later time.
Explain in detail how you would act in the following situation:
You spot a staff member breaking rules to the point of harming other users, how do you approach the staff member?
I would let them know that I saw them breaking the rules to the point of harming other users and they are not setting an appropriate example of what the staff team are like and what our attitude is supposed to be. I would tell them if this happens again then they have a chance of being demoted as we do not tolerate our staff harming other users and rule breaking as it is the opposite of what they are supposed to do. In this situation I would also probably let all the lead team know about it.
I feel like I should add extra information about me, so I wrote a list of pros and cons about me:
Pros:
I can come across as very proffesional
I have good knowledge of the rules
I have a very good standing ground
Cons
Argumentitive
I can go haywire
Stubborn.
It may seem weird to put cons about me but I believe in not just showing my good side and I like being down to earth. I know I'm not perfect and I think accepting my bad parts shows that I can improve on them, which I am trying to do. And I like to believe I am doing so successfully.
I have been staff for almost 4 months
