Hijacked Link to Steam Profile: steamcommunity.com/id/LukeHijacked/ SteamID: STEAM_0:1:89269711 Current Gametracker Profiles: Server 1 - www.gametracker.com/player/Hijacked/play.zarpgaming.com:27030/ Estimated Server Time: Minutes Played: 2033 Languages I speak: English, I can speak little French Explain how you feel that your time as a moderator will contribute to you becoming an admin: When being a moderator on this server, I was expecting it to be the same as other servers which I was staff on, however, it was actually a little more focused on social skills, for example when people are doing something which is annoying the majority of players on the server, you just need to know how to talk them out of it and make them stop doing the action, so back to the question, I think that being a moderator on this particular server has contributed by making my social skills increase by being more aware and talkative to other players on the server in general, and if just being a moderator did that I want to take it a step further and see what new challenges and obstacles I can possibly get over. Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around (EG: defiant user): This sort of links back to what I said in the previous question, They was a player which I started to realise was getting banned, kicked and warned consistently for the same things, so I messaged him in steam and talked to him and after a while he admitted yes, he was Consistently using alt accounts to get back onto the server, I then talked with him a little while longer and he said he would stop what he was doing, I obviously didn't think that was fully true, so I kept aware of things which were happening and they seemed to have stopped, i'm still not 100% sure however, even if they had left the server or truly stopped, other players didn't have to put up with it any longer. If you had to write a letter to train a moderator in between 100-200 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?: Congratulations on becoming apart of the team! However now you will have to learn the basics for moderating the server, firstly we'll start with the TAB menu, By pressing TAB you can see all the various players which are playing on the server, just like you would as a casual player, but now if you click someone in the tab menu, at the bottom they is a list of the following actions . (Kick) This button should only be pressed if someone is joining on alt account, Which you know off and is persistantly being irratating to the zarp community. (MuteChat) This button is used to mute people that are spamming, advertising and harassing people in any way, this stops them from being able to communicate in the text chat. (FamilySharingCheck) This option should be pressed if you believe someone is using a shared steam account to ban evade or use the account for any adavntage. (MuteVoice) This button is used to mute people that are spamming, advertising and harassing people in any way, this stops them from being able to communicate in the voice chat. (Spectating) This button is necessary if you pass someone who looks suspicious and you want to get a closer look. - The last part is a bit hard to understand, I'm not that good at working under a limit sorry Explain how you would handle the following situation: Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for Cheating, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be? Depending on what the ban was for, I would try contacting them personally on steam or team speak and negotiate with them about the crime they committed against the server rules, I would go on to so how all of the rules have a purpose and breaking any of them impacts the community in some way, however as it is there first time I may look to getting them un-banned, but that wouldn't be the end, I would continue to stay aware of them and their actions for around a week to see if they are as apologetic and sorry as they seemed to be. if they they make another action which was intentional, I would ban them again and not take pitty on them again. Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 100 words): Through the more social skills I have gained towards this amazing and welcoming community I feel that going one step further up the rankings of the staff team could really help me learn new skills and give me something to work towards, when becoming a moderator, I staid motivated by the thought of having the goal to move up a higher rank on the staff team and at the same time helping out players on the server, which made it even better! By moving up I would feel I have accomplished that goal which would make me 10x happier than before, and the motivation wouldn't end there. I think I should be promoted because so far I don't think that anyone despises of me and wouldn't not take notice of me if I needed to talk to them about something, and being a admin would give me a little more higher status than people thinking all that could really happen is them being Muted. And another reaon, I adore this community. Extra Information: (Not Required) So, if you checked my game tracker I was a little on and off when moderating the server, I'm very sorry for the inconvenience , I was visiting someone in hospital all that week but now i'm back and ready to try my best at becoming a Administrator. |
