Permission given to apply straight for Admin by Irish Rings
![]() STEAM_0:0:52189662 ![]() Estimated Server Time: 1959+ minutes Languages I speak: English, some French and Spanish and a little bit of Irish Gaelic. Explain how you feel that your time as a moderator will contribute to you becoming an admin: (Copied from old app) In my time as a Moderator, I have been trying my best to keep the server clean of people breaking the rules and trying to ensure that all of the users are able to enjoy their time on the server. I have encountered people rulebreaking, and punished them accordingly. I feel that in my time as a Moderator, I have managed to grasp staffing on Surf very well, and I feel as though I will be able to help out even more as an Admin than I have been able to so far as a Moderator, and that I would be able to benefit the server further as an Admin. Explain a situation as a moderator you encountered that was an obstacle you had to work around: (Copied from old app) An obstacle that I encountered as a Moderator was when a bunch of users were constantly micspamming and disrespecting users for seemingly no reason other than their own amusement. To begin with, I asked the users to stop, and told them that continuing would lead to punishment, as I had not previously had any issues with these users. The users continued to spam and disrespect, so I gave them all a 5 minute voice mute and told them that it was for their actions in constantly micspamming and disrespecting, and if they continued then I would be following it up with a harsher punishment. When they were eventually unmuted, they went back to their micspamming and disrespecting, so I followed it up, as promised, with a 10 minute mute. Once again, they were unmuted and continued, so I muted them indefinitely. Once the map had changed, the behaviour persisted, so I kicked the users for their unacceptable behaviour. Luckily they did not join back, and so the problem did not persist, but if it had then I would have had to call an Admin+, as it could have led to more serious action being needed. If you had to write a letter to train a moderator in between 100-200 words, what would you say to give them the full grasp?: Congratulations <player>! You are now a Moderator on the ZARP Gaming Surf server! As a Moderator, you now have some responsibilities and powers in order to help the server to be a better place. You are now a role model towards the users, and some of them will look up to you and follow the rules as you do, so keep that in mind and make sure that you set a good image for yourself and the server. One of the first things that you will need is the staff ethos, which you can find here: zarpgaming.com/index.php/forum/general-d...335-zarp-staff-ethos You will also likely benefit from reading over the staff guide created by Raifster123 if you have any further questions: zarpgaming.com/index.php/forum/surf/80223-surf-staff-guide The staff ethos shows you how you should handle situations in order to be fair to all users. It is a guideline, so you do not have to treat it as a holy document, you should just try to stick to it as much as you see fit. You will also want to know to use a player's SteamID when you are punishing them, or use the TAB menu. Press TAB and click on a players name. Under their profile picture, you can see their SteamID, which you can click to copy. In the TAB menu, you can also see some of your commands. This is one of the easiest ways to punish people, however there are some commands which are not in the TAB menu, or you may need to type to punish them for some reason, so it is useful to know the chat commands too. Now, onto the new commands that you have in order to carry out your role. First of all, you have the command to mute a player from typing in chat. You should use this if a player is spamming or being disrespectful, or rulebreaking by using chat in any way. Give the player a verbal warning to stop first, and then mute them. You can mute them using the command /mutechat <SteamID> <Minutes> Similar to the chatmute command, is the command to mute via voice (Mute Globally in TAB menu), for if they are mic spamming or rulebreaking in any way using the voice chat. /voicemute<SteamID> <Minutes> Next up is the freeze command. There are few situations in which you would want to use this. If a player is exploiting in order to complete the map and will not stop, you may want to freeze them so that you can teleport them back to the start before they are able to complete the map by exploiting. /freeze <SteamID> You can use the slay command in a similar situation to the freeze command. If a player is exploiting and will not stop, you can slay them as a way to send them back to the start of the map. /slay <SteamID> <type - always use normal> Finally, we have the command to strip a user's weapons. This command is one that you will likely have little use for. If a situation arises in which you do need to use it, such as a user spamming weapons to the point where it is disrupting other users, you can do /strip <SteamID> You can also now attend staff meetings on the ZARP Teamspeak server ts.zarpgaming.com at 8PM British Time (GMT / BST) (Or later, depending on how long the Deathrun meeting lasts for) every Friday to vote on new staff members and suggestions. If you have any other questions or need any help at all in your time as staff, don't hesitate to ask any other member of staff and they will be happy to help as much as possible! Explain how you would handle the following situation: Player x appeals their ban in great detail, apology and effort. You check the ban list and find that you banned them permanently for cheating, and that this is their first ban. How would your response to the appeal be? Since I was the one who made the ban, I would not be able to handle the appeal, and the hacking policy also states that only Lead Team members can punish for hacking, but sure, let's live with this little hypothetical universe. I would, however, speak with the person who handles the appeal and attempt to reach a conclusion to shorten the user's ban to anywhere between 3 and 5 days, due to the fact that it was their first punishment, and they should be given a chance to prove that they can change and follow the rules. If I were the one to handle the appeal (if the ban was made by someone other than myself), I would respond with the following: Warning: Spoiler! [ Click to expand ][ Click to hide ] Why I should be promoted (we recommend around 100 words): I think that I should be promoted because I am highly experienced and trusted in staffing positions, in my roles as Prophunt Server Owner, Murder Server Owner, TTT Head Admin, SSRP Admin, Teamspeak Staff, Deathrun Admin and Forum staff, and an ex-Surf Admin. I have a lot of experience, and I feel that I can bring this experience to Surf in a fuller way as an Admin. I want to be able to help out the server and the community more than I have been able to as a Moderator, and I think that I have what it takes to help the server. From what I have seen, there tends to be a lot of gaps in the Surf server when no staff are online, and so in that time there can be quite a few issues arising, and users breaking rules constantly. I feel that I will be able to effectively fill in some of these gaps more than I have been able to as a Thank you for reading my application, any constructive feedback / criticism is appreciated! |

Why do your applications always look so ugly? Just kidding
Anyways, you've got this man. Although I don't believe focussing on this many servers is healthy or good, you have plenty of time (for those that will say he won't, the Surf gametracker struggles to update half of the time - I've got a similar issue) and are an experienced, trusted staff member all over the community. |

Thanks for applying for staff at ZARP SURF! During our weekly staff meeting your application, question answers, game trackers and in-game attitude are checked and then the staff team votes on your application. Congratulations! The staff team has voted to accept your application, which means you’re now a part of the ZARP SURF staff team. Before you get started, a staff member will help train you on the server and get you setup with your new rank. There’s a weekly staff meeting for the server every Friday at 8PM GMT, which is held on the ZARP Teamspeak server (IP: ts.zarpgaming.com). You now get a vote on the new staff members and we’ll keep you up to date with new events and server updates at the meeting. Congratulations and thanks for supporting ZARP! . |
