Hey chute, I heard you worked for Microsoft, if you want to, can you describe your role and what qualifications you need to obtain it? I'm looking into further education and I feel like I should ask you before choosing courses that could lead to dead ends. I'm looking to be in the Armed Forces, but if that fails I'd love to have the qualifications ready to just advance and work for the higher-end companies.

Yes it's always a great idea to plan ahead. Could you tell me what level your currently at in terms of your education? Are you currently doing GCSE's, A-Levels or already in higher education? |

I currently do software engineering myself (programming) and if you're looking to get into that you should definitely look at taking Computer Science at A-Level or ICT if they're not offering it at your school/college. You can technically take both but it's definitely better to take a broader range of subjects at this level if you ask me, because if anything it will help you keep your options open.
Over the next two years your school will almost certainly begin to talk to you about what's next in terms of higher education/university and how the whole process works if you would like to study it at a higher level. So don't panic too much at this stage you have plenty of time to decide and to think about what you might want to do after education. |
