Most people are searching for happiness. They’re looking for it. They’re trying to find it in someone or something outside of themselves. That’s a fundamental mistake. Happiness is something that you are, and it comes from the way you think.

If you need to talk to people about stuff, I'm always happy to talk. We've only met a handful of times in game, so I'll understand if you pass on the offer. I'm sure plenty of people here can understand and relate to the feeling of depression, it isn't a fun place to be. Hope you find the help you need, man.

I have absolutely no idea who you are but know this - depression usually stems from irrational thought; you need to identify and eliminate that rational thought (for example, your friend has to cancel a plan so you assume that they never wanted to do that thing in the first place; that's an irrational assumption and it leads to self hatred and doubt). I am lucky enough to have learnt a great deal of psychology and can therefore usually identify my own irrational thinking; however, for you it could be different and I would therefore recommend seeing a therapist (my aspired profession) because they can help you to see things how they really are as opposed to how you negatively perceive them. I am usually fairly depressed in winter (I potentially suffer from seasonal affective disorder but I am not quite sure of it) and understand why you may feel the way that you do; if you really want to talk to someone who you don't really know (because they may be too close to your life that it could be awkward or uncomfortable) then I am willing to aid you in any way that I can though I would recommend a proper therapist because they'll do a much better job than a trainee like me!
