Just wondering what is the better choice...

I am using headphones at the moment, however, I am scared because I use them for long periods of time and I don't know if I will encounter any problems with my ear because of it...

i personally recommend an headset because your ears can still breath unlike headphones were they are shoved into your ear.

Headsets are awesome, not only do they cancel out sound so you can hear clearly at low volume they don't touch ur ear a lot

Definitely headset over headphones If you´re concerned for your ears.
The main reason is earbuds naturally add about 9 dB of volume because they are closer to the ear canal. Add to that, earbuds do not block out as much background noise.
Buy headset as they provide better sound and safer for your ears
