@Sally - In the beginning, there was nothing. And Sally. One day, Sally got bored, so she created the heavens and the FRIGGIN' PEEK A BOO.
@Jordz - I usually get on quite well with people who are naturally good people. Though, you are not scary. You're terrifying.
You're a significantly nice person, and it's easy to see how anyone might click with you.
@Aspect - ZARP - as much as it annoys me sometimes - is still a place where I can play purely for the sake of relaxing. There's something somewhat cathartic about just walking around the map.
I wouldn't say it's dead. I would say it does get quiet when there're no events going on. But I'm sure there're reasons for that.
@Kalll - I elected to answer this one last as I believe it's important for people to understand why sometimes I might have a problem with this server. ZARP is not always the nicest place to play on. There were many reasons why I left originally, and - believe it or not - I used to leave quite frequently, albeit for reasons that were not quite as 'dramatic'. I usually left for a month or two because I got bored. I think one time I left for about 4 to 6 months.
There're lot of reasons I left. One being that I had an issue with the way the community played the game, as I couldn't help but compare it to other communities I had been a part of. It just seemed like I was seeing a part of humanity that embraced being as selfish and immature as possible. That's not to say everyone was like that, it was just certain aspects that got me thinking that way.
Another reason was because I really wasn't doing anything on the server. At most, I'd spend time talking with the people I cared about on the server, or doing my events, and no matter how cathartic it was, I couldn't help but feel like I could be doing something more productive, or at least, play a game with a bit more to it than what I did 60-70% of the time, which was literally walk around the map.
Possibly the reason you in particular might want to know is because I was frustrated over the rules and the general staff ethos. What pushed me over the edge was one particular incident where I was told off for an exploit that I had seen everyone use and that I had never seen anyone get punished for. However - that's not to say I didn't understand full well that exploits, no matter how frequently used or how simple - are not fair to use. That admin knows who they are, and knows I will never, ever forgive them for what they did to me. They are a true monster and I can't hate anyone more than I hate them.
...I am, of course, kidding and the fact that anyone might even believe that I'd take something to heart that much might be a problem in of itself.
The admin and I are on great, friendly terms, and I definitely believe that I simply overreacted - albeit, in a time where I was already struggling with my feelings for ZARP in the first place.
