So I was mining with my diamond pickaxe as a miner, suddenly I wasn't a miner anymore and my pickaxe was gone! Can someone pleas explain what happened?

Sounds like you've been demoted. Go up in chat/console if you're still in-game but I doubt the demote reason to still be there
