Restart pc or reinstall gmod

Restart steam.

You don't need to reinstall, just restart your PC or Steam.

Happened to me few hours ago, just restarted the pc and it got fixed.

I had this same problem and DEADMONSTOR told me to goto the left hand corner in the library section with all your games and in the left corner click "steam" and then click "Check for steam client updates" and then restart steam and load gmod if that doesnt work i dont know.
