Hiya, guys.
Some of you know me as Father Watson in-game. Less of you may notice that I don't actually RP a whole lot, I'm either selling stuff or doing silly little events where you can win cool stuff.
I'm a writer, IRL. I've been working on my current project for over ten years, now. It evolved from a story about a superpowered mercenary to one about a group of demi-gods who're struggling against a primordial foe.
On one or two other games, I've done events that actually feature characters from my book - and this game is no exception.
(If ya wanna hear more about my book, PM me or message me on Steam.)
So, for a limited time - approximately a week - I'll be offering membership to a brand new type of event.
I call it Tales from Corporeus.
Why are you offering memberships to this?
Short answer = It'll distinguish who's ready to have some real fun from who isn't.
Longer answer = This is an expensive-ass thing to run. I'm basically talking about paying out to a whole bunch of players. Giving out big prizes. More importantly, it shows me just how much you'd like to be a part of this. These are events that will be specially planned and have a place on both the game, and even the forums themselves.
These are longer events, things that will actually require thought - but at the same time, you'll get plenty of incentive to play well.
How much will these memberships cost?
They're free.
Bullpucky. You must have something up your sleeves, mate.
Nope.
Real talk, what do you get out of this?
Bubkus. I get absolutely flabbergasterblaster all.
Nah, I get to know I'm making you guys happy, and I'm helping people who might be down on their luck, or who might need a financial push in the right direction.
I DO accept donations; however, this is not customary, nor is it even expected. (Check below for a bit of a different approach to this question.)
What will these events include?
Text adventures, choose your own adventure style games. There will also be in-game treasure hunts, challenges for a particular class/job, etc. Countless stuff.
So, you seriously get nothing?
...Well, some of the events might have a buy-in.
*Gasp* I knew it! Thief! Scammer! Go to hell!
The buy-in's are for events that either have a very high value item in them, or things that are literally casino-based. Some of them might have storylines that require the buy-in, in which case - most of the time, you'll get your buy-in back.
What kind of buy-in's will there be? What do I get out of buying in?
If an event has a buy-in, you can bet that there will usually be some kind of compensatory prize if you fail the event if it's competitive or cooperative. These prizes will usually be equal to, or greater than the value of what you originally gave to be a part of the game. Not every event will have a compensatory prize, I feel that needs to be said.
How many events will there be?
Not gonna lie, depends largely on my mood at the time, but there won't be a set amount of them. Though, they will be sporadic. It depends also on how much I actually have to give out.
So, these events will be limited to members only?
Most of them, yes. The vast majority. Some of them, I'll allow the entire server to get involved, or a plus one.
Okay. Let's say I wanted to be a member, how do I go about signing up?
Fill out this form (If you're unsure of certain terms, check just below the form for a quick explanation):
In-Game/RP Name:
Trial or Permanent membership:
Why do you want to be a member?
Share-Scheme:
Name one way you've helped out another player:
Share-Scheme? Helping out other players? Trial? What?
To quickly explain: A trial membership is for those who aren't sure they want to be a full part of the events. This will be for people who only want to take part in two (at max) events.
The Share-Scheme is basically asking you if you want to share out your prizes (yes, even your consolation prizes) with any other player. Next to it, put "N/A" if you don't want to share, or put the name of the person you're sharing with, and the percentage of how much you want to share with that person. You can only share with one player.
Helping out other players basically shows me that you've at least tried to help people, and that you're not just in this for the cash/prizes. I know it sounds stupid, but I just like to know the funds/items are going to good people.
Thanks, guys.
I'll give an update by tomorrow.
