It's safer this way
ZARP doesn't know your password. Neither does YouTube, Facebook or any decent website. It's safer this way, it means that a hacker or a rogue person can't find out what your password is.
So how does ZARP know you've entered the right password when you come back to login? There are certain types of math operations that are very easy to do one way but cannot be reversed the other.

To you your password is a series of letters,symbols or digits but to a computer it is the same as everything else; a series of binary digits 1's and 0's. And you can perform maths on these binary digits, one way operations. The process is called hashing.

Here's how it works >

You enter your password:
It's put through a one way math operation, and what you get is a string of characters. That's what we keep in the database.
[abc] -------------------------> cv$£210403;54

When you come back and enter your password again, it's put through the same math operation as before. If the result is the same as what's stored in the database we know you've entered the correct password. Even though we don't know what that is.
[abc] -------------------------> cv$£210403;54

That's why ZARP doesn't email you your password when you say you've forgotten it, we ask you to set a new one. We can't because we don't know it.
So if you ever find a site that does email you your password, then you shouldn't trust it. They have no idea about security.
