TOPIC: A brief rant about crossfire.

Crossfire, it's a term I've heard thrown about a lot recently, and I thought I'd throw my two cents into the ring while also applying basic common sense to my arguments.

The rule itself is intended to broaden the viable regions for firefights by ensuring that users won't be held accountable for accidental kills on people caught up in the fight.

The key word here of course, is accidental

If you fire an RPG into a gang of innocents, while only having an RP reason to kill one of them, you know full well what you are doing and that you will kill the surrounding people. This is not accidental, it's harmful to people's experience and it's just an excuse to mass RDM. Anyone who does it is not doing it by accident. You're abusing a rule set out to make RP more fun by ruining others RP.

So stop.

I am accountable for RPG'ing for hits and killing 1 other guy ( tonight with pugga chan I decided to RPG glacial for a hit and then a hit was placed on pugga and I shot a RPG and pugga moved so it killed someone else.) in this case I could of been warned if that person cared due to me being reckless.

This is true sometimes. People like to be assholes and shoot you with a RPG while you are a base Even if you are not basing in it, And they can just say its crossfire.

I had this not too long ago, i was making a (bad) robot just for fun in a little spot, I didnt had building sign and it was outside and i had ofcourse no raidable entities, and this guy thaught it would be funny to RPG me and use as en excuse that i didnt had building sign.

It may have nothing to do with crossfire but its those excuses people try to get out of it. (he got warned though )

I completely agree , they hide behind the crossfire rule so they can Mass RDM with out punishment. It all depends on the situation and they should be warned if they did it on purpose like the example Exrobite mentioned.
