4,5k mmr ( considered as " very high skill " ) talking here. So don't play the following: Earth Spirit, Invoker, Meepo, Io, Visage, Pudge. Play the following: Sven, Wraith King, Lich, Warlock, Sniper, Riki. Play vs bots alot. Go to options, disable auto attack, mess around with the controls. #1 Rule DONT PLAY BOT GAMES IT DOES NOT MAKE YOU A BETTER PLAYER OR EVEN HELP YOU . I have been playing since Dota 2 beta in 2011 have over 3k hours on it. And I can tell you only play the game if you want to really put your life into it. Otherwise this isnt a game you can just play sometimes casually.
