So just going to let you guys know about something I encountered and give you a little insight on what you should be looking out for in CS:GO. Many people out there want to get valuable skins or knives and will do anything to take them from people for themselves. But before we start, there are plenty of ways people attempt this so be warned and don't click on anything that you are unfamiliar with. Trust no one that is sending a link you do not know, they could already been hacked and spreading it to you.
My story starts when I decided to play CS:GO. I receive a message saying "Are you going to play, we need +1". I replied and then joined the lobby.
At this point I see the high ranks and felt like this is going to be a tough game, playing the game clearly wasn't their intentions. After joining the person who invited me starts to steam message me asking me if I have a microphone. I assumed he was going to ask for me to join Teamspeak. Instead something different, he continued to ask shocked of me never hearing of this and sends me a link to download it.
I looked up anything about this website and found a steam community message about the same situation I was in. You can check that out
here. Everything explained there was exactly what was being told to me except I didn't go on the website and said it was blocked for me. He tried finding ways of me downloading it still. He tried doing this in two ways: Claiming that steam block most websites. I suggested teamspeak and you can see his response to that.
Clearly his efforts were failing so he tries to provoke me to play by increasing the skill of the premade team. He got rid of the gold nova master and replaced him with "The Global Elite". In the screenshot you can see messages I've said because the |USA| was saying he was waiting for me and told me to download the overtalk program. I then decided to report them all on steam, block the original guy and leave the lobby.
So from this I expect you guys to not go any strange websites, no matter how legit they may seem. Steam will give you a warning if you click on something suspicious. If you guys come across anything else that is similar then it would be good to let the rest of the Zarp community know.
