TOPIC: I don't get it [CS:GO]

So, lately i player alot of cs:go ranked.
I was silver elite, now am i gold nova 2.

i was wondering how the rank system works? Is it like if you win 5 ranked games in a row will you get to next rank or is it random?

It works with points, dependent on how you perform in-game. Mainly MVP Stars. Points are awarded after the match has finished, and if you pass a certain amount of points, you rank up. If you lose a match, you lose points, also dependent on how you performed in-game. The better you did, the less you lost.

The reason you ranked up so fast is because a big part of the higher ranked players got VAC banned in a recent ban-wave, which lowered the amount of points needed to rank up.

Think of your rank as a set amount of EXP you have to reach, except that EXP is Elo.

Its called elo because you rank up through the Elo system, and just a heads up it's really bad.

You get experience or "elo" when you win rounds, get mvp's, and game wins.

I've ranked up off of a tie before, because ties also give elo, and I just recently ranked up again on a 2 game streak.

Yep so you gain ELO to rank up but if you lose ELO to certain amount you will deranked
