TOPIC: Need Help with Sony Vegas

So as you can tell by the title I have decided to adventure into the world of editing and GFX. The only problem is is that I have no clue where to start. I have tried to watch videos on Youtube but I just can't grasp the basics. If anyone can help me in anyway please leave a comment.

EDIT: Basically I have been asked to be an editor for a COD clan and I used to know what to do but I have completely forgot as I have had a change in PC.
