Explaing Rules and Giving Examples on applications 9 years 5 months ago #75306

I mean it's a great idea, don't get me wrong here.

But in all honesty it doesn't prove a single thing about the person..

Yeah, some guys may actually truly know the rules.

But lets think about it here.. How easy is it to just go to the rules list and look up the rule and then put it in your own words..

I personally feel those questions are something you should ask them in an on teamspeak interview so you can tell that they ACTUALLY know.

What do you guys think?

Then you at least read the rules so you could give a quick description about them. Thats more than most of the players do.

And to add to that, mostely the newly picked mods are watched alot in their first week.
See it as a trial week.

I do totally Agree, The amount of apps that a very very similar ;) is a recurring thing. I think maybe using this (the apps) but also a TS3 Interview would be a great idea especially for admin apps maybe.
I think this way one it shows they have TS3 and will be able to attend meetings which is important and two that you can actually get to know the person more and why they want to apply and if they seem the understand the basic ideas of being a staff member. Another positive is that it would give you more points to speak about in the main meeting which would cut down the awkward silence that sometimes happens :P & would add more points to the agree and disagree then just, there always active.

Great suggestion!

Mods aren't put on trial, they are picked because they are ready to be a staff members as soon as they get their rank if i remember correctly.
Maybe you could suggest this? (I would +Support it) but it has been spoken about before I believe.

Last time I checked, there are trial weeks. If not on SSRP, there are on TTT. Even so, he said "see it as a trial week", them not necessarily being those.
