TOPIC: Thinking about hosting a CS:GO tournament

Thinking about hosting a CS:GO tournament 9 years 9 months ago #54942

Hey guys, some of you may know me, but for those who don't, I'm one of the Super Admins at FP.

As some of you may know, there's been a few CS:GO matches between the ZARP and FP staff teams, and I can definitely say there were a lot of exciting moments in those matches.

With that being said, I think there would be a lot more hype for something bigger, which in this case would be a tournament for all members of both communities.

It's only an idea, but the team in 1st place would receive a pretty big prize (at least for a video game community anyway.)

My concerns though, If I were to do this, I'd like to have a pretty large amount of teams (5 players per team) simply so this can be interesting and fun, and this would probably have to be something done over time (maybe 2-3 matches a week depending on how many teams there are.) I'm also afraid of people using hacks or anything else to get an advantage over other players.

How this would work is, each team would be seeded based on skill and rank for the team members, and then put into a bracket. Both ZARP and FP teams will face each other in the tournament, so the final matches can be two FP teams, or two ZARP teams, depending on who wins. We'd try to get all the matches streamed on Twitch so everyone can enjoy watching.

Basically, this whole thing is to increase the relationship between both ZARP and FP, and to spark more interest in the communities. It'd be amazing if we could do big community-wide events like this on a regular basis.

As I said before, this is only an idea, and I want to see how many people would actually be interested in this before I go off out of nowhere with this thing and find out nobody cares.

Leave your comments here, I'd love to hear what you all have to say

We can do this, but after the ZARP Games, since we will be busy participating in that during this week :)
We can make a tournament, many CS:Go teams from ZARP and FP can compete in their own community, then we can have a semi-final 2x(1 FP team vs 1 Zarp team) and a final, where the winners get some prizes ingame...

I think we should maybe mix the teams a bit. Just a suggestion ;)

I second this, maybe we can have a sign up form or something in a thread, where we mention our ranks, matches won, etc, and the hosts can mix up both players from ZARP and FP, trying to make it as balanced as possible, this way it would make players from both communities closer, and it would be fun meeting new players from different communities

Exactly! +1 :)
