if you get something like this in steam
Admin Community: The Steam Happy Day! Exclusive offer !! Now, you can get one game from the list below for free. Just choose your game and write your Steam e-mail! The Confirmation will be sent to you in a few minutes . You must have at least one game in your Steam account steampoweredgifts.esy.es DO NOT DO IT! Its a scam! Reasons- noticed when they asked for your steam name and password (they woud alredy have it in their data base if it woud be real steam) Notice that it ends with esy.es and normal woud end with .com so thats strike 2 Notice that they ask for email address and password too. Why woud they need it? all woud they need is address not password itself. Notice that you want click store or news you cant click them. why? because its a diffrent site Notice that its called steampoweredgifts not steampowered. If you did do it you have about 30min to fix it (my guess) so-steam,email YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED! |

Thank you for the warning and to everyone else: if you get these type of mails with these type of offers you can usually validate their legitimacy by going to their website manually on your browser.
In general it's very easy to spot phishing emails. In this case it should be common knowledge that Steam's website URL does not end with: esy.es. |

Here's an article that provides a step-by-step guide of what should be done: support.steampowered.com/kb_article.php?ref=2347-QDFN-4366 I am probably stating the obvious, but this support article should be sufficient in re-claiming a hijacked Steam account. |

Well he is doing it and the scamers "New"accounts name is-Twensa hosting so go to him maybe add him to friends then spam him that he will be banned then maybe passed to jail because basicly he stole about 100$ from haxton |

I highly doubt spamming the culprit will help. I would recommend contacting Steam support and let them handle the rest as Haxton's old account information will always be stored in Valve's system so reclaiming the account should not be a problem.

Meanwhile at Steam Support : WE created STEAM GUARD and people still manage to fuck up their accounts.
I even told Haxton after he sent me a ref link that a specific site is scam. Just to note : THERE ARE NO FREE Steam Gift sites. The only trustable source is either the special sales on steam itself or partners of steam. A scam site is easy to detect since 90% of them work the same way. 1.Gather cookies. 2.Give victim a link to share (let them think they get points) 3.Every new visitor will share cookies after clicking the ref link. 4.Create traffic 5.Gather more info through register 6.Sell data to third-party But since nearly every scam site doesn't bother to have good security its really fun to fuck the sites up with XSS Injection or SQL Injection ![]() I found a scam site once which gathered steam passwords (yes some people still give their login data out that easy) So I used a exploit in its system. (Password were saved on a internal folder in a txt file pretty stupid) With the exploit I got access to the admin account downloaded the txt file + delete it on server and reported it to steam + the hoster. Whenever you see a scam site please report it to the related service. In this case Steam Support, they are all trying hard to find every scam site but if you would report it you would help out alot ![]() Have a great day ![]() |
