TOPIC: okay hear me out

By checking here after 8 years, I have realized that people are still emotionally connected to the server. I am too, we spent so much time here, made friends and shit. It was a remarkable community.

DARKRP 2 - there is no way i am doing the suggestion format

not a reset, the same server but new. Everyone starts with 100k and a blank inv. maybe not add any item after 2018.

bam, it is fun and playable again. I am sure people will come back. There is no rp server like zarp as i searched. they all have gay rules. zarp had no gay rules. it had the real gays.

basing and raiding is fun again. we may even exploit again. how exciting?

so zarp classic

i have always had a deep, emotional connection with zarp, i still do. Currently battling with a life threatening infection, everytime i take my penicillin i rewatch zarp rip montages while the needle goes in, helps me remember better days.

classic would be cool but nobody literally gives a shit nowadays so no point

I'm not saying it wouldn't work, but I always found it bizarre that people think a big magic *restart* button will automatically entice hundreds of legacy players to return, no questions asked

Sure a clean slate resets the numbers but it cannot resurrect the exact period of your life, the original community dynamic, or the lower expectations that made thr server feel special in the first place

But then again, ZARP hasn't got much to lose at this point, so... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This game died for me the moment i discovered how to farm printers without a single human finding them. At that point it became a "how much do i wanna keep my pc on" game

But i do miss the old times of zarp
I've never found a gmod server that was chill enough with the rules to let you do what you want with minimum consequences like this server did. It's not like it didn't fuel toxicity but freedom and the lack of actual roleplay is what made this server so good. Actual roleplay is cringe and for losers
