Animal Farm (George Orwell) - Dystopian anthropomorphism fiction (One of Orwell's other classics, if you liked 1984, chances are you'll like this)

Edit: Sadly I do not read a lot due to struggling with attention deficit, but I've read a book called The Rosie Project, it was very heartwarming and it gives you a different perspective of an unaverage person, pretty beautiful. Often we don't really think about how some people's brains work, and how they think, so it was nice getting into the character's mind and feeling sympathy and empathy.

I also read The Rosie Effect, currently on The Rosie Result. It's a romantic fiction triology.

Ordinary Men, truly incredible book, rather a scary read.

I won't spoil everything but the short run down is how 3 ordinary men who are friends (it matters that they are men because it is a hell of a lot harder to change a fully developed persons morals and way of thinking meanwhile you can fill a younger persons mind with propaganda and brainwash them with ease) anyway its the start of ww2 and the story of how they could be brainwashed not through propaganda but from the idea of not abandoning each friend during training/missions. During "missions" the men would have to commit acts that made them mentally and physically sick which for ovs reasons im not breaking down because its no no for TOU. Anyway they get de-sensitized to committing such disgusting acts and go from 3 ordinary men into monsters all while they are fully aware of the transformation. Its really cool from a psychology point of view (if that interests you) outside of that its a fantastic piece of history
