So I keep crashing from SSRP or something, I try to join it gets to downloading rp_downtown_zarp_v6.ain then I crash and it's a pain in the ass basically.
I usually get this on surf and so I'd download the map but I don't know where to look for the ssrp map Edit: well, on surf it doesn't crash it just doesn't load so idk server hates me. Edit2: I could load onto the previous map(s) Help me Please see my lower post for further information. |

thanks for map uh, I guess it's not the problem though, still crashing, I'll try reinstalling if I can be bothered tomorrow unless there's other solutions (I have tried verifying files)

I had an issue with maps where that some would just not load like you are saying and some would be full errors, I disabled all my addons and deleted them in the gmod directory and it fixed the issue for me, i realise that its a bit different to your issue but its worth a shot although it may take a bit if you have lots of addons.

Okk I have, Uninstalled all my addons from folder and game then reinstalled them, I have uninstalled the game deleted the files and reinstalled, I have validated the files (many times), ensured I had the map downloaded
Starting to think this is just my PC being a cunt so I've ensured that I am using the latest graphics driver, cleared some storage, lowered the game settings significantly, with all this- I am still crashing, Not sure what else to try My PC specs; CPU: Intel i5-9400F 2.9GHz, 2904Mhz, 6 Core(s), 6 Logical Processor(s) GPU: GTX 1660ti RAM: 16GB (8GBx2) Not too sure what else matters in a computer because I'm not an absolute nerd. as for my internet, It's not the best but it does the job getting around 20mbps-40mbps download and around 15mbps upload, Generally steam is a cunt and limits it at about 4mbps Edit: So, It gets to a point usually 50% through "Downloading maps/graphs/rp_downtown_zarp_v6.ain" then fps drops to around 5 then nothing happens and eventually the application will close, No error messages come up however it's just a close, I then checked my resource monitor as I thought maybe the memory was struggling however memory does not exceed 50% in the loading phase, CPU reaches about 70% whilst GPU sits comfortably at 20%-30%, SSD, HDD and WiFi all act normally. Edit2: Conclusively I do not see why it is crashing and shall continue trying to figure it out, I currently have all my addons disabled in case one of those are the problem. However, I am doubtful that any of my current addons will be causing any issues as the only ones I have installed are from Zarp pointshop servers, SSRP is the only server I am failing to join whilst all the other servers within the community work efficiently with fast loading and stable 200-300fps in-game. Edit3: As much as I would love to check console to try and figure if it's something there the game crashes so I can not do so, as stated I have upgraded my drivers ensured software updates are up to date, Unfortunately none of this is working, any assistance would be helpful however I doubt there's too much I can do. Edit4: I have tried using chromium and launching in 64-bit, again neither of which are working and uh, yeah Not helpful whatsoever but here's a clip of the moments before crash medal.tv/clips/42783220/d13373Rl0WoN Edit5: Apparently It goes, I join but not really. Basically, It puts my player into the game, then I can't pass the loading screen as seen in the video above. Edit6: I have tried the download styles "Only allow map files", "Allow all custom files from server", "Do not download any custom files" with both; addons enabled & addons disabled. |
