TOPIC: WLR - A disappointment

After 2 years, Carti dropped WLR the 25th, and i'm not gonna lie, i'm extremely disappointed
The album has a decent amount of tracks, but they are almost like over carti'ed
And what i mean by that is like, Carti is special right, when you listen to his "leaked" songs, the beat, his way to sing and shit, that's his signature, and what made everyone hyped for WLR.

On the album, the first song "Rockstar Made" dude, not only the beat is meh, but i feel like it's too much shit.
I feel like Carti signed with a big label, but the label doesn't know shit and forced him to do "trendy stuff"
Anyways, the only real decent song is Go2DaMoon with Kanye, my favourite from the whole album, and let me tell you, i ain't alone.

If there is any Zarper listening to Carti, drop your opinions down, i want to know everyone elese's opinion about WLR

Whole Lotta Mid. Carti sounds like hes got a throat infection his vocals are just so average. Not a huge fan of his anymore but was still rly dissapointed. Tracklist is so bloated too why are there 24 songs??? Same problem as "Deathrace for Love" (Juice Wrlds 2nd solo album) where theres just too much meaningless filler.

Could've been the long awaited great album people wanted if nobody leaked all the good songs and made the label switch it up ig atleast the whole meme about it was good

My expectations for the album were based on @meh, his cut verse on Yayo, his verse on Pain 1993 and his verse on Flex Up.
I can't say I was disappointed because my expectations weren't that high to begin with.
I think the second half of the album is really good though.

Basically I think it’s bad, but not as awful as Twitter is making it out to be. My personal opinion would be a 3/10.
Die Lit is by far superior and what most people, including me were expecting from this new album. However Carti strayed away from that quite a bit and I just find it completely disappointing. Most of the songs are either decent or just terrible. I liked about 7 of the songs on it, and for a long awaited album that took 3 years with 24 songs on it, my expectations were much higher. A lot of the beats were quite mediocre at best and the lyrics were nothing impressive either. There were not enough features and a lot of the more aggressive songs don’t suite Carti in my opinion.
Furthermore, like Sp00ns said, a lot of the songs originally on WLR were leaked, so he had to redo it. A shame as those leaks sounded a lot more like the Carti we are used to, and those songs were great, considering the bad quality of some due to being leaked and not officially released. Here’s hoping the deluxe version releases with all those leaked songs, it will be much better than WLR.
