Online is dead
Which is sad because it's actually a really fun game. Tekken 7, Mortal Kombat, Smash Ultimate and to a lesser extent, Fighterz tend to take over the online scene at the minute.

Dead or Alive 6 is another pretty dead online fighter.

I prefer Soul Calibur 3's story mode even though it was legit fight after fight

I was about to finish it and my uncle came and borrowed it and never gave it back the fucker

I remember buying Dead or Alive 5 because I love those kind of games, and played Dead or Alive in the past, but it's is almost impossible to play online, since connecting to players can only be done if you and another player in your area search for a game.

I played Dead or Alive 4 a lot back in like 2007/8. I remember the lobbies could be customized and you could have little avatars that run about in the room and could do emotes until the match started. I mained Zack, if I remember correctly. He was the only character I was remotely good with.

@Revine If I'm correct, I think they've rectified that issue in later games by giving people the ability to choose where they want their search to extend to. Like in Tekken, the default is pretty much your own area, but you can extend it to worldwide, with people of all languages and even all wifi strength lol
