TOPIC: old head rants #1

I'm 35yrs old. Rap has been my fav genre for most of my life. Last 5yrs, not so much. I'm not into the new era/wave of rap. Don't keep up/know new artists. I've heard of this dude, but never listened to anything he's put out. I jus clicked on this. I'm absolutely amazed that this is where rap is. Fucking terrible. This to me. Is a dude who listens to rap. Want's to be a rapper. Raps around he's ppl. Rather getting high or drunk. Is not really serious trying to make it. More of a form of entertainment. But, BUT, BUT, at raps current situation. This dude is a signed artist. Famous n everywhere. Shit blows my fucking mind

Is this a meme? Your views of rap aren’t this shallow right? There’s just as much if not more contemporary, lyrical, quality rappers that are completely removed from “mumble rap” which you are probably refering to here. This mindset of hating on rap just because there’s some dimwits like Blueface and Lil Pump that are wildly popular is so excruciatingly shallow because there are so many amazing rappers out there yet people like to look at things from a surface level and judge it completely on that.
