TOPIC: User of the Decade

It's a bit late, but I'd like to try and do a special award ceremony celebrating the best and worst of the community.

I usually use the forums as a bit of a sandbox to pitch ideas and think about ways to go about doing little competitions. This one's different from the usual. I'd like to give everyone the opportunity to think about this. Whether I do one award or several.

If I do one award, it'll be User of the Decade, this isn't just about who's the richest or the most skilled, its also about the best and brightest shining stars of our community. So those who represent everything that makes ZARP great. This award will mean nominations, which is where things get tricky because it's easy for a poll to get rigged. So what I'm thinking of doing is either getting people to message me their vote over Steam or if you see me in game, or allowing the community council to take part (if they're interested) or other users who might express a direct interest and are trusted.

Keep in mind, this award is unofficial, it is not affiliated in any way with ChuteUK and is more just a fun little thank you for giving people joy and memories.

If anyone would like to donate to the prize pool, or if ChuteUK would like to back this himself, feel free!

A better layout of what this might look like is the following:
User of the Decade criteria:
1) Has been a part of ZARPGaming for at least 1 year. (I wanna say longer, but I feel like inclusivity is important)
2) User must be active. (Can be on any server, TTT, SSRP, Bhop, etc. This also means that the player hasn't come on and just disappeared for ages.)
3) User must have contributed to the community in a significant way. (Now, this can be tricky because a significant contribution can mean a lot of things, but the simplest way to put it is - they've made some kind of effort to be a decent member of our community, and been noticeable. This can apply to anything from staffing on servers, to showing great displays of generosity/integrity, even just suggesting great ideas that have been made a part of our community. It can be anything you can make a case for.)
4) Anything else you can think of. Again, in the spirit of inclusivity, I'd like to include those who have faced terrible punishments up to community bans (I say up to but that's about as bad as it gets tbh)

Other awards might include things like:

1) Most Valuable Player or the "Captain of Industry Award" (Inventory - SSRP)
2) Most Valuable Player or the "Pointshop King Award" (Pointshop accumulation/inventory)
3) Most Skilled Player l (Leaderboards)
4) Best Traitor
5) Best Detective
6) Best Staff Member (Only those still in the staff team count)
7) Best Staff Member No Longer Here (Those who have since resigned)
ZARP Clown Award (awarded to the player who has made the bulk of the player base laugh and amused us all)
9) King (or Queen) of the Legendary Members (This applies to the best of the legendary members.)
10) Lord of the Surf (Best Surf player in terms of skill)
And so on.

You can suggest awards if you like, and we can see how they work.

Again, this isn't the award post. It's really just a sandbox to see what people think. If you don't like this idea, we won't do it. Keep in mind aswell that this is not a place for flame wars to start. I know a topic like this can cause a lot of debate and heated discussion, but let's try and keep it civil.

That said - we can also include troll awards like Crappiest Shot, or Most Broke Player, etc. As long as it isn't going to cause infighting... Though, I suppose that's kinda asking for trouble.

The award itself can be an actual emblem if someone would like to design one. Alternatively, I can try and get one made.
As for the prize pool, user of the decade would probably be the recipient of very special rewards, so maybe we should discuss what to give.

Realistically, I'd like to get some more opinions on a few things:

1) One award (User of the decade) OR multiple awards including UoftheD.

1b) If multiple, should there be awards for the bad and the Ugly of the community, mostly meant to be tongue-in-cheek, and not malicious. So jokey things like biggest troll, cringelord supreme, biggest beggar, backstabber King, etc.

2) Should this happen at all?

3) Would you like just me to count votes, or a committee?

4) What prizes are we thinking? Boosters, VIP, SSRP/pointshop items, Steam giftcards, etc. I can also mix it up a bit.

5) Would we like to try and get this sponsored/backed/endorsed by ZARP? (I can try to make a case to Chute. This might mean delays in actually making the award happen, though.)

Give me your thoughts, and feel free to make suggestions.
