I remember when i watched this in the week when it was released but it's been so long now that i totally forgot about it. At the moment, Techland, the people who made the original Dead Island, have also let out Dying Light.
Dying Light 2 will be released soon, too.
It isn't entirely the same - but it's something. But hey, least we got Dead Island and Riptide so far.

Dead Island 2 is still in development by Sumo Digital, but as nothing was shown at E3 or any of the game cons/expos this year, one can only assume no significant development milestones have been reached. Might get it next year, might get it in three years, might never get it.
We'll see how we go.
