The thing with OP characters, especially in a narrative like Marvel Comics, is that they're essentially Deus Ex Machinas for the plot. Killing Thanos/stopping Thanos was obviously a huge priority for Danvers (Captain Marvel), but they figured for the sake of the narrative it probably would've made more sense for the characters to go back to their own past - especially considering Danvers was only in one film. She still played a fairly vital role, but if they had her to help with everything, it wouldn't have been quite as interesting because part of the appeal is the struggle. Though, fun fact: MCU Thor is pretty severely nerfed in comparison to the comics.

They nerf almost all the characters

I really enjoyed End Game. Although, I wasn't nearly as impressed with it as I was with Infinity War.

Don't get me wrong, I loved how humanised the Avengers were post-snap; the sheer anguish and melancholic feel for the first portion of the film really made you feel sympathy for the 'symbols of hope and strength'. However, I did feel like this pre-action phase lasted way too long and the actual build up to the battle was drawn way out than it needed to be. Kinda annoyed me but it did allow for some great character development. I was also kinda disappointed with Thanos' performance in this movie - he wasn't nearly as menacing and dominant as he was in IW, kind of a let down tbh.

I was also really satisfied with some of the endings of characters arcs: Captain America and Iron Man had the most bitter-sweet endings to their arcs I could have imagined but I'm not even mad.
