im at a sad point of my life and all i want to do is play minecraft but everytime i open it i am stuck on "not responding" forever (and yes, i have tried waiting hours for it)

doubt anyone will be able to help me because the amount of things ive already tried myself is unreal

I don't play vanilla minecraft so I don't know what the launcher looks like anymore but if you can find the settings tab in the launcher and make sure you've got an optimal amount of max RAM available to use and make sure it hasn't set itself to something stupidly low for some reason, that's something I suggest trying. just tried installing a different version of java seen as the one it gives me as default is clearly not right for a 64bit system, it still took a while but eventually loaded up, thanks to xnator for giving me the idea of trying a different version of java!	eddie.
