TOPIC: Thoughts on Fallout 76?

Obviously, over the past few days we've seen the release of Red Dead Redemption 2 and the first "public" (preorder only) beta period for Fallout 76. My friends and I have been enjoying it quite a bit.

Any of you guys tried it yet? What're your thoughts?

I pre-loaded the beta on PC but it does not start until tomorrow unfortunately.

I'm not sure how I feel about it yet. Is there really no NPCs in the game world?

Okay, so I've played all the Xbox beta bits so far, and from what I've seen, there are no human NPCs. Only robots and recordings.

I know this kind of makes it difficult to really immerse yourself in the story. But honestly, the game isn't that bad. There's a lot to enjoy about running around, doing quests, exploring Appalachia, and killing lots of old and new monsters. And doing it with friends just increases the fun. Plus, they've already got a Halloween event in. A few, actually.

From the gameplay trailer, it looked rather plain and like a cash grab to me. However, I havent played the beta so I cant judge to harshly. Also, apparently if you keep killing people you get a debuff that lasts 2 hours, which doesnt sound too good. Lack of human NPCs is awful, and VATs is really odd as well (but its online so you cant really just freeze the game anymore so it makes sense). Ill have to try it before I can say whether I like it or not.
