I’ve see so much made of people being “mean” trolling, saying something to someone or using the “N” word and the punishments behind them but then there is people just destroying the rolepay of the legit players and they get a response of not enough proof or I’ll speak to them. I’ve talked to a few people and they have straight up said they don’t even bother reporting shit anymore and they just break the rules back because it’s easier to take the punishmen than trying to get someone banned.
It makes me sad to see the craziness going on because just like a lot of other people I put a lot of time and effort in to the servers. I remember when training for something people took pride in and it was less of you can’t do this or that and more of use your own head and if you see something wrong handle it. The polices seems to of taken away the right for people to think for themselves anymore. The whole time I was staff I never found one rule break that was the same as another the amount of factors are high.
Not sure if this is the same anymore but as I was leaving you got kicked for hacking but banned for saying something racist. That is a clear example of things not making sense because someone could of been saying a song lyric and then they get banned? But then some cock on a alt who’s hacked a few times just get kicked so he can come back and ruin someone’s role play. The staff shouldn’t be scared to make a mistake they should be able to punish people how they think and if somethings not right then deal with it together.
STOP making it so easy got people to get staff it’s not working anymore, yes it was productive in getting people on the servers but now the genuine people who want to be staff and are staff have lost interest because rule breakers are also becoming staff. That’s not fair on them and I can see why they have got disheartened. Get the two week activity back, zero month long active punishments and get them quality staff back.
( I won’t mention names) There as been a few people saying that people are more interested becoming higher ranks and making shit for servers when they haven’t even put the work in to staffing them. I can see where there coming from you can make all the servers you want but unless you’re going to be on the servers and making it easier for the staff then there will be no point it will grt rule breakers and then die. Note: This isn’t recent do dead and whoever else don’t get offsive it’s been going on longer than you have been staff.
I don't think a thank you justifies how much I agree with your post. I agree with almost everything you say.
Most staff members that are staff today aren't staff members because they want to support the servers, rather they use it for their own benefit and simply as defense. The blatant rulebreakers who don't care about mass rdming just because they know they'll only get a warning for it are the people I want to punish the hardest. This is a massive turn off for players that are just trying to get into the game.
As a player playing multiple hours a day, you absolutely will need a recording software to get anyone punished. The amount of loopholes in the rules and policies is insane, and there are many players who exploit it. I don't agree with permanent bans being dished out, just longer ones especially for the people who come on solely to rulebreak every couple weeks or by the time their recent punishments no longer exist. Being a staff member taking their rapsheet into account, the most I've been told I can do is to warn them because anything else would go against the staff ethos.

That's exactly the type of rulebreakers where a policy needs to be enforced against them. The kick for hacking rule and instant ban for saying the n-word should be completely swapped. The extremes go to a player that's been using an undetectable cheat for all of their time they've played on zarp and then getting kicked for it, alongwhile loopholing every rule they possibly can because they know for a fact they can't get banned. And if they do get banned? The staff member gets reported and punished for an "excessive punishment" - compared to someone saying the n-word and getting an instant day ban. I personally wish I could do more, but I'd get spoken to on teamspeak about it within the hour of issuing a ban that deals with blatant rulebreakers harsher.
The server generally needs higher quality staff members (previously mentioned why the quality of them is so low) that are able to function and use their discretion in situations that aren't so cookie-cutter with the rules. Lastly, there's also an underlying problem of communication between the whole staff team and a
miniature lack of content and horrendous communication.
