So, as we all know, Murder is now gone, and for good reason. The server was quite clearly not popular in the slightest, and I do not disagree with the removal of it at all (even if I disagree with some other elements of what happened regarding the removal, but that's something else entirely).
I would personally like to thank everyone who put work into the Murder server, and especially the staff and Lead Team members who stayed with the server right until the end and actively tried to do something to help it to have at least some life.
From the start of the server, a lot of work went in, with the creation of the server, the updates, work from staff and attempts to do something to revive it towards the end.
All of the hard work and effort that went into the server from everyone does not go unappreciated, and it is a shame that the work had to end like this, but I think we can all agree that it was fun working together whilst it lasted.
I would also like to thank the Community Team (the guys who voted in Murder, not these new arseholes
joking), namely Chute, EMP, Tyler and Para (yes, he's gone but he still helped) who approached myself and Luki with the idea of a Murder server when we were working on Basewars, and gave us the chance to work on it and bring it into the community for the past 11 months.
It's sad to see it come to this, as all endings are, but I'm sure everyone who worked on the server gained a lot of new experienced from it, and I hope that everyone puts this experience to good use elsewhere.
Some special mentions:
Luki Guki - Creating the Murder server with you was one of the most fun projects I have worked on in the community so far. We had a blast making Prophunt, but everything we did with Murder was equally, if not more, fun, even if it wasn't anywhere near as successful. Thank you for creating and supporting the server with me as my fellow Server Owner at the start <3
Tyler Durden & EMP - I think I can safely say that the two of you are the Community Team members who offered the most support with Murder, and that is hugely appreciated. Both of you helped out a lot with maintaining what little popularity we had, especially with the ideas that Tyler put forwards, which can still be worked on and implemented elsewhere.
Nickolas, Wolfi & BDnico - The Lead Team members at the end of the server. The optimism you guys had to keep the server going and to keep trying was truly heartwarming. It's a shame to see you guys lose your ranks like this, and for you not to be able to continue working on the server you loved, but I honestly appreciate your work so much, and I hope that the server helped you to get some more experience and knowledge that you can apply elsewhere.
Kemi - You also offered a lot of support and ideas in various aspects of the Murder server, which did not go unnoticed or unappreciated at all, thank you for trying to help out, despite being under no obligation to.
The work that went into Murder was not all for nothing. There are many new ideas that I had because of Murder, and many new things I learned. It's been an interesting ride, and I hope that the Jailbreak server to take the place of Murder is successful (at least more so than Murder or this would be kinda pointless wouldn't it
).
