If you joined the server with that alt yourself your ip was logged with that steamID. When they looked for the ip that could of been the reason why your's showed up. The other possibility which I don't have a clear knowladge on how it works is that they spoofed your IP on theirs

IP spoofing doesn't work. When the server wants to contact you back it won't go back to you so there is no point.

If they live close to you thought they might be able to get the same one if they have been assigned it. However, you cannot have 2 routers on the same IP at the same time unless they are just relaying the first router which then you should probably look at security vulnerabilities in your network.

Doesn't work like that, the server would be trying to send data to that IP instead of the person that needs the data

Its not possible, what is possible however is if you used a VPN and they connected to the same server.

Like AssMonster and Denis said that shit ain’t possiable so the only way people could use the same network if they’re not living with you is if you both used a VPN.

The only possible way is if you shared a VPN with someone else, lived in the same house and used the same router, lived close and your IP got assigned to him at some point after you'd used it.

IP spoofing doesn't work. When the server wants to contact you back it won't go back to you so there is no point.

If they live close to you thought they might be able to get the same one if they have been assigned it. However, you cannot have 2 routers on the same IP at the same time unless they are just relaying the first router which then you should probably look at security vulnerabilities in your network.
couldn't they be using some sort of client-web vpn like tor? Not entirely familiar with it, but as far as I know every user acts like a client and a server at the same time and that's how you jump around ips

How that usually works is they have access to the server or a client on that network and thread all networking traffic through that to change your IP.
