Well its a good idea but some users only come here to appeal their punishments such as bans or so on, and needing them to post 5 posts first could lead to non-constructive posts on the most recent topics or straight-up spam all just so they can get past this requirement. In turn, giving more work to those who moderated the forums so not entirely sure about it.

The captcha idea is solid tho.

I've seen spam bots reply to threads rather than making their own in that past, this wouldn't fix anything and wouldn't help if a user was in need of desperate help.

Understandable, didn't know that they reply to threads. This shit happening to alot of forums and i think something has to be done :thinking:

As EMP and Chute have stated before, they want the forums to be easily accessible for anyone that needs help. The spam posts are only a minor issue, and adding email verification would only be an extra hurdle for new people to overcome. It would cause more issues than it would solve.
