So recently PUBG announced that they are introducing a region lock meaning that players will only be able to play in their own region. Now I can see what they want this because 60% of the game is your accuracy “Hit registration” and when people from other regions play somewhere that’s not close their ping rises and their hit registration becomes a lot less likely.
Anyways with the new region lock, they won’t be hard locking players from playing on other regions, but instead the matchmaking system will be changed so that players are matched with those with a similar ping level. This means that even if a player changes their location they will be less likely to join a server with players in a different region instead, they’ll be placed in a lobby with players from their own country.
This kind of system has worked well for games like Counter Strike: Global Offensive in the past, so we don’t see why it can’t work on PUBG, either. What do you guys think? Let me know in the comments below.
