I bought 20 booster packs yesterday and if my ban appeal is denied I won’t be able to open the cases can I wait to activate them for Christmas so I can open that case?

Yes, you can activate them whenever you want.

Yeah I would suggest claiming them during Christmas booster packs if you can't get these.
