Binged watched a few movies on my list recently.
Saw O' brother where art thou? and I can say I have not seen a Coen brother film I have not enjoyed yet, it was also good too see Buster scruggs again as the soft soul that is Delmar.
Watched snowpiercer also which I did not know was a Bong Joon-ho film which gets me excited for Parasite. This film can only be descibred as an eccentric view of the bourgeoisie against the proletariat, until revolt occurs in which things only get worse and worse and worse until it's all a train wreck
And watched howl's moving castle again for the first time since school, and it's amazing how they can just bring a world and characters to life.
I found Buster Scruggs a bit lacklustre, only enjoyed the singing cowboy and James Franco's bit. All I want is a movie like Fargo, but I know I'm asking too much.
I haven't to this day seen Snowpiercer but you definitely should see Parasite, already talked about it early in the thread. It's more social commentary.
Studio Ghibli movies stand on their own scale. There's the mainstream ones but I recommend Pam Poko and The Wind Rises. Anime gets bad rep in the west but do look into Satoshi Kon's work, tragically he passed away 10 years ago but his work still stands up today: Perfect Blue, Tokyo Godfather, Millenium Actress, Paprika (Inception draws inspiration from this).

That movie alwas confuses me, I love it, but it feels like there are two stories in one. A apocalyptic movie which is also a rapey military movie.
I really enjoyed the beginning and towards the chaotic end. The iconic soundtrack makes it really despair. But ye the movie quickly turned into a edgy teen boy's wet dream.
